Struggles are raindrops
Pools of possibilities-
Lie in the distance
Hope
Winds of vanity
Can not halt mighty rivers
Of hope and freedom

A Black girl crying
Missouri lake-fireflies
Above her cornrows
Rats
Brooklyn rats run wild
Into cold streets of Flatbush-
Scarring a toddler
Chickadees
Cute Chickadees swarm
Bird feeder in apple tree
As children watches

Beyond a forest
There are winter blue mountains
Polar bears emerge

Christmas bells rang loud
Across moonlit Russia
One snowy mid day
Villagers
The villagers find crops
Making a countryside bloom
With soybeans and yams
Traveler
Traveler waits in
Egypt heat- irritated
He watches the birds
