Poem: A Special One

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

Poem Summary

"A Special One" is about knowing someone's spirit is free after he dies. Just watching the eagles soar or feeling the wind blow on your face lets you know he is near. You understand he's part of something much bigger than life. He remains in your heart as you cherish memories until you meet again.

"Since I Lost You" by Phil Collins

A Special One

As the eagles soar above
with victory in their spirit,
I know you are free.

As the wind
blows against my face,
I know you are walking with me
as my day grows weary and long.

You're a part of something bigger than life
existing in a dimension I cannot see
so much stronger than you could ever imagine.

Nothing diminishes
your one of a kind ways
living on in my heart
as I cherish those moments
until we meet again.

And if I go, while you're still here...

Know that I live on

Vibrating to a different measure

Behind a thin veil you cannot see through.

You cannot see me

So you must have faith.

I wait for the time when we can soar together again,

Both aware of each other.

Until then, live your life to the fullest

And when you need me,

Just whisper my name in your heart,

...I will be there.
