A Single Breath

I have stumbled across a new passion: writing. It is proving to be insightful and rewarding.

Today I just breathe, practicing the four, seven, eight technique.

I inhale in through the nose and out through the mouth.

As I lie here listening to softly playing music I imagine I’m flying high above the ocean watching the waves rise and fall as they lap the shoreline.

As I breathe deeply I become lightheaded, closing my eyes as I relax, floating among the bright white clouds.

The higher I fly, the thinner the air as I almost lose consciousness. Just on the brink of blacking out I roll into a deepening dive to speed ever faster toward earth. I come out into a full on glide dipping the tips my wings on the ocean’s surface.

Feeling freer than ever, I find a new confidence I’ve not felt before. Looking up, I thank Father Universe for allowing me to fly freely in his presence.

Even when I am alone, with the sky to myself, I reflect upon the memory of His love as it fills my soul.

With the next several breaths, I intently listen to my heartbeat as I feel the rise and fall of my chest. As my diaphragm opens fully I inhale to depths I’ve only dreamed of.

I relax to sleep as I am transported to another dimension where time stands still.

Very calming imagery here, the ocean has always been my home away from home.

Great poem!
