A Poem by Ashonte My Daughter: Famous Girl Amelia

I have been writing poetry, fiction and short stories for many years and have completed a book of poems. I also enjoy comedy writing.

Famous Girl Amelia

Famous Girl Amelia

One day, there was a pretty girl named Amelia, she was 9 years old.

When she was walking in to class she did not see her friends and she felt cold.

Amelia has a lot of friends, 36 to be exact

Amelia was a science wiz, but she loved math.

When it was class time, her teacher told her to pull out her science book.

Amelia was ecstatic and by mistake took out her cook book.

The teacher laughed and said, “Amelia you planning on cooking today?”

“Oops said Amelia, sorry miss, I’ll get out the science book right away.

Amelia wrote about growth, excretion and reproduction.
Some characteristics of living things.

Amelia was a good girl and never got any suspension

She was all about doing the right things.

It was now break time and Amelia had peanut butter and Jelly

It was not enough because she still felt hunger in her belly.

She then played with her friends, Gihanna, Joelle and Tay

Amelia had wonderful time at school that day.

Well now, this is just delightful. I would venture a guess that Ashonte will shine her light on us in many ways.

My boy and I will read this together tonight.

I think that is an excellent poem for Ashonte as she is only 9! I hope she continues to write.

O...how precious of you to share. She must feel very special that you shared her work with us. It sounds as though she has many interests if this is really about her. Angels headed your way this morning.ps

Well done, Ashonte! Good to see a new and aspiring poet.
