A Poem For My Father, Born on D-day

You changed the way I think

You taught me to stand up and be heard and fight to express your opinion, even if you stand alone.

When I tackled someone on a football field I did it for you.

Tears fill my eyes as I remember you working the chaingang and an opposing player said, ''That 75 can hit." That was fourteen years ago and if God turned back time and gave me another chance to play football again, I'd hit him even harder.
