Charmaine is a native of the East Coast of Australia who is a freelance writer and poet who loves the unexpectedness of the Divination Arts.

I sought inspiration from the symbology of the tarot deck for this poem to be.

I randomly chose a card and the card happened to be the Major Arcana card, the Devil, of the Tarot de St Croix tarot deck.

This card can hold the meaning of hoplessness within all humans as well as when one is addicted or obsessed by something or someone.

A Poem: Buddha Bat Wings

Moons rise high and low

in the quivering heavens of flow,

Soulfully singing,

the grape blues of cling.

A hand forces

the head down to endorse,

it’s time to grow up.

Sophistication lies

in the mount

of the silent bat wings.

loads of sex born,

playing violent video games,

doing drugs,

drowning in alcohol,

is the cool of the rich

and that, is to be adult.

Does the swooping on of a black hood,

block out the likelihood,

of the hypnotic entitlement,

of the lighthouse erect?

Can drink, drugs, religion

and spirituality chug,

the Buddha that resides within?

Or, is it about

running away out-of-out?

Does it even matter anymore?

Moralizing and hypothesizing,

what for?

Being human is realizing

your flaws censorially.

Why forgo your body,

for the pleasure of

your soul in the after-life?

I’m tired.

So, cried.

I just don’t know anymore.

Do we really

need to know forever more?

The three monkeys

zip close their turnkeys

to see, speak and hear.

Yet, the Buddha bat wings

flap to magnetize

pleasure and vulnerability.

Tense Hywel,

of sienna orange swirls,

streaking within granules of sand,

glistening like a diamond.

Oceans blue and wide,

soft hued flowers stride

being hugged by soft tree canopies.

Spirit all around.

Let the sun kiss your back.

Stay cradled and wracked,

by the silence of the silvery moon.

Follow your knowing.

Buddha Bat Wings makes me feel
