A New Season Awaits

Summer images

a-new-season-awaits

Imagery from nature's pages

Shadows from the clouds over the moon

The beams shining through to the forest floor

Frogs chirp in the rushes and ponds

This is the imagery that awaits at nature's door

Owls hoot their eyes all too keen

They stay out of sight

not so easily seen

scanning the undergrowth for something to eat

sitting motionless in their seat

Flowers have closed their petals so tight

Nature knows when to sleep and when to

awaken the dawn

with sweet colours and fragrances

the earth they adorn

Butterflies flit in the warm summer sunshine

from flower to flower

of mine, in the garden

a beautiful reminder of beauty in seasons

each with its own colour and reasons.

Summer gives way to cooler days

as Autumn arrives

to surprise our day

Time to pull out the jerseys and gloves

The swallows have now left

A bird we all love.

The hearth crackles with dancing flames

Time for another winter

and indoor games

So it is with the seasons under the sun

another year and cycle has begun.

The warmth of the hearth, in winter

a-new-season-awaits

Love warms the heart

Embracing our lives and helping others to appreciate and love themselves, helps to make a more loving world.

Love conquers

Thanks Peggy.

Love is what matters at the end of the day, however difficult at times. Hope you are well and keeping safe.

Thanks Brenda,

I must say I am a summer baby and also enjoy all the beauty in nature that it brings along with it .

BRENDA ARLEDGE from Washington Court House on October 15, 2020:

Diana,

It is beginning to feel like the change is near. I will miss the summer time flowers and nature's little creatures...but alas it's getting colder.

I'm sure I will find a few fall & winter delights that will make me smile.

I just hope it's nit a bad year for a harsh winter.

Thanks for the share.
