A Journey to Light. Tuesday's Inspiration 24, to my Friend Rosina Khan

Manatita is an esteemed author living in London, UK. He writes spiritual books, flash fiction and esoteric poetry, his favourite genre.

On Flowers

Flowers are the Light of the Beloved, expressing their kaleidoscope of beauty to the Hearts of receptive souls. They offer their splendour, redolence and above all, humility and sacrifice, to the service of Love in humanity.

Burgundy Roses

Burgundy Flowers. A Regular Sonnet

Burgundy roses, shinning in meadows,

Colours of beauty, for weddings; for Love.

Thorns to protect these grandiose heroes,

Redolence of Jasmines, straight from above.

Peonies, dahlias and red garland thrills,

Purple lavenders and orchids galore.

Cute Lilac lilies in aubergine fields,

Magenta tulips and rainbows in flow.

Pink raven sunflowers; exotic smells,

Burgundy Hollyhocks; blossoming pride.

Blooming perennials, weaving their spells,

Magical camellias, where love abides.

Butterflies dancing in glorious Light,

Souls filled with tear-drops in joyful delight.

A Journey to Light. A Free-style Sonnet

Walking alone in this labyrinth of confusion,

I relied on my own strength to see me through.

All seemed lost, however, as my pace became

Shorter and shorter, forcing the ego to diminish.

Alone in my desperate need, I cried out to the

Indigo moon, even as the night swallowed me in

Darkness; yet she revealed herself, emanating a

Magnificent lustre, to a soul dying for the Light.

Now I lay this Temple, on her compassionate lap, as the

Light dances, feeding my core with celestial music. Love,

The sweet fuel of my oxygen, whispers to Orion, imparting

Its luminance to my breath; lifting my veil of shadowy fears.

Now I sail on the wings of silvery Light,

You feeding this tavern with Ecstasy-Delight.

Thought for Today, by Manatita

The purity of a snow-white Heart and the dynamic flame of the soul's aspiration, are the beginning and the end of the journey.

Wisdom from the Master

"When we look at a flower, the beauty, we have to feel inside our Hearts, the same flower. Afterwards we have to feel that the Heart, has become the flower. That Heart-flower has fragrance in infinite measure and God created the beauty and fragrance of the flower..." - Sri Chinmoy

Actually, I don't know that she did, but she asked John to. My Heart is spontaneous and I like to follow it. I felt it would help to do another in Sonnet form and covering more burgundy-style flowers. So I did one today. Poetry comes easily to me.

I added another which I also did today, first. Once I finished hers, I used a title to connect the two.

Thank you so much! Appreciations!!

What a wonderful tribute to our friend, Rosina.

I am touched that you used the burgundy roses for your poem since she just wrote about them herself.

Using these flowers to show the connection of love within our hearts is beautiful.

There are often times when one is down, feeling weak...but the light shines and gives him the power to keep going.

Wonderful tribute to Rosina.

Hey Manatita. You were thoughtful as you remembered that Rosina Khan seemed to like Burgundy roses! What a wonderful variety of flowers mentioned in the poem. I like how in your second poem, it transitioned nicely to the Light from the Darkness.
