Poem: A Journey of Bitter Knowing
Our stories will be fairy tales; we are quick to presume,
But many of them leave us in dark empty rooms.
Our memories will be cherished we love to think,
But so often beneath our ocean of tears they sink.
Our daily moments we wish to stutter like a fly,
But our empty rooms and oceans leave us so dry.
On a dim rainy day, splutters of inspiration on us bless,
To see beyond our yearnings & innermost darkness.
On real dreams of escape, on the song of our muse,
To pack our bags hoping to let go of life’s abuse.
On the roads, we go by and journeys we share,
To discern remains of vanity and other lives of despair.
These voyages we take to end all our strife,
But to merely recognize we are not alone in this tapestry called life
