A Humble Letter to God: A Poem
They gave you many convenient names
on your behalf committed so much killing
squeezing you in their conceptual frames
setting some religious walls and a ceiling.
Your unfathomable nature they fancy to know
with intellectual arrogance naïve as could be
ascribing to you feats that will never show
like qualities of man they hope to see.
We pretend to know your cosmic design
reading those holy books written by man
by praying in front of a man-made shrine
to get misleading answers now and then.
For we don't see the power of our mind
which could create things out of thin air
about our own nature we are still blind
our own constructs you didn't put there.
This is what I will always fail to understand
human gullibility in their craving to know
as they imagine something so grand
involving itself in our pathetic show.
Even a toddler is capable to say god
in any language ever invented by man
and our understanding is just as broad
but we like "knowing" more than we can.
