I have stumbled across a new passion: writing. It is proving to be insightful and rewarding.
I love a rainy day
Just chilly enough to wear a flannel shirt
To feel snug and secure inside it’s warmth
Like snuggling an old blanket brought forth
I love the ambiance of a gloomy day
The grayness, raindrops, and puddles to splash in
To just jump into a puddle and chase all worries away
It’s a happy feeling, really it is
Then to come inside and get a cup of warm tea
To sit in front of a warm fire with run away thoughts
Perhaps reminisce about an old friend
Or visualize traveling somewhere north of my dreams
So some rainy day, if you get a chance
Splash in the puddles, sing and dance
Remember that little things are sent our way
To remind us to be wise, because mercy is just change in disguise.

I like rain and I like the sentiments in your poem. Great advice and conclusion in the last verse. Thank you.

Thanks Teodora and Brenda! Yes, it's that time of season, isn't it? Hot chocolate and flannel shirts!

I like the imagery of that old flannel shirt...that sounds comfy to me.
You'd like today. It's grey and rainy.
A little bit of that fall chill in the air.

Beautiful imagery! I also like rainy days, as long as I am inside watching the rain from my comfort zone. :)
