My Fervent Prayer - A Moment With God
The Power Of Prayer
I was taught to pray with my father, mother, brother and sister at an early age. I have never questioned whether my prayers were heard. I knew as a child, every invocation was heard. I also knew that each prayer was answered; not always in the way I'd like, but in the way I needed for my spiritual growth.
Benefits Of Praying
When we pray, our heart rate slows, blood pressure drops and we experience a greater feeling of calmness.
In a study done by the National Institue of Health, people who prayed daily were shown to be 40 percent less likely to have high blood pressure than those without prayer.
My Prayer
Dearest Father In Heaven -
Mold me as a little child with love in pure perfection
Bless my body, keep it whole, to serve my brothers and sisters
Renew and strengthen my life-giving energy
May Thy power move through me always.
Thou art merciful and all-healing
Thy love moves within me
Shine thy light through the darkness of my ignorance
Daily I will seek to live thy word
My dreams of perfection are the bridges that
carry me into the realm of pure reflection
I release all bitterness and resentment
Returning now to divine order
Bless my restless mind...lead me to peace
Inspire my words fill my mind with lofty thoughts
Thy infinite intelligence capable of infinite expansion
Share with me this day your will
Thou Art With Me
Help me oh Father to obey physical, social and moral laws
With burning, joyous power I will obey wisdom's chamber
With you as my captain darkness cannot stay
Thou art the ocean, I am the wave, we are one
Submerge me in your eternal light
Permeate every particle of my being
Charity, compassion, forgiveness is my song
Thou art within me, I listen, I hear
I understand not the mystery of life
Or the challenges before me
Loss and pain invade my nights
I grieve for him, my son
He dwells with Thee, even so
A waterfall of tears
Invade my heart's ache
A longing persists...an unfinished symphony
Bless me, dear Father, that I may focus on living Thy holy word
May my roots be planted deep in Thy heart's desire
Endowed with wisdom, coated with humility
Giving birth to a whole new story
And the glory be to Thee forever.
Amen

A beautiful prayer to start my day! My husband broke his neck on a scooter accident and three days after we got home from the hospital he ended back in the hospital with 4 bypass heart surgery. We had so many people praying for us and it gave us both so much strength, we felt the prayers of God's people. He is truly blessed by God and I call him a miracle man!
Beautiful prayer. Those who believe in Him live by His word and their prayers are always answered.
There is little I might say that has not been eloquently said already. Praying aloud when you can and silently when necessary, coupled with a listening spirit, even what the scriptures call for: "pray continuously" is a key to the companionship of the Holy Ghost and the inspiration and whisperings we need to guide us forward safely. You know that, and you have said it beautifully that we might share your prayer with you.
Yes, I do believe in the power of prayer. It is part of my getting ready for the day and ends my day. I teach my granddaughter the importance of prayer, not to ask for anything all the time but just to acknowledge God for who He is. I love your work, it's wonderful and peaceful. I enjoyed reading your prayer.
Prayer has always been a part of my life and your prayer is beautiful.
This is absolutely true and very besautifully expressed... for if it weren't for God where would I be??? I shudder to think...
What a wonderfully Blessed expression ... thanks for sharing this
What a beautiful prayer Audrey! This world needs more prayers and people who desire peace and understanding. My mother lost both of her sons (my brothers) and husband before she entered the next life. She always said that losing a child was the worst kind of pain much as she loved my dad. Blessings to you and just know that your son will be waiting for you in heaven when it is your time to join him. Sharing this! Your prayer may help others.
I have an ailing pet--and in need of some grace today--thought I would pay a visit here!
This is absolutely beautiful. I find myself praying more and more with the way people are behaving. I think we need Him more now than ever. Thank you for sharing!
Prayer touches the heart of God. Sweet prayer.
Hi Audrey this is a beautiful heart touching prayer :) May God bless you and comfort you until you meet your loved one in heaven :) Be strong !!
A beautiful prayer Audrey and I do believe in the power of prayer not of ourselves but the word trusted in Jesus name and sharing it with others (at least one other) where the bible says where 2 or more are in His name there He is also. Our faith is so much stronger put in Him. God bless you.

Awesome poem and prayer Audrey. I think we all need to sit back and reflect on things and this is the best way to do it, wonderful!
Great hub! I like the style and a beautiful prayer.
Thank you for this beautiful and inspiring prayer. I truly loved the whole thing, but the line that rings out in these troubled times is, "I release all bitterness and resentment." That is so difficult to do and yet, so rewarding, like a conversation with our Father in Heaven.
Beautiful words indeed. Words l need to keep safely in my heart . You write beautifully despite the pain you must have suffered.
Today is the date of 55 years ago ...the death of my mother. Some years like this one today hit me hard. Most years l merely think of her as l often do anyway, remembering as much a 10 year old child can possibly remember. Today was different. This year it's hard and l don't know why. I only know that reading your beautiful prayer has helped me more than l can explain. Thank you.
What a beautiful hub you have created here, it has lifted my spirit higher. Thank you for the holy goose bumps!
I came back to share this beautiful prayer.
And to listen to the song of Prayer
With it's words of encouragement
To keep us strong

Dear Audrey, I love you songs to God
Prayers with a musical tone
When you sing you are never alone
You will always have and audience of one

The Prayer is one of my favorites
Blessings my friend
Oh, Dear Audrey,
Thank you for sharing this most beautiful prayer! Prayer is so important to me in my daily life. I wake up and pray before I step out of the bed and continue to pray throughout my day. I know He hears and answers. Praying is how we stay in communication with our sweet Lord God. It is amazing to listen ...
You are precious and so is your prayer.
God bless you, sweet friend
Hello Audrey - That was such a nice read. You put your beautiful heart into this and it came shining through. Many need to see this, and benefit from your prayer.
I am in agreement with your prayer. I often talk to God about my weaknesses and ask him to make me stronger. Even though we know our loved ones are safe in the arms of our Father above, we still grieve their absence. Prayers and hugs for your today.
Amen to the prayer. I like the McGill quote as well. The verse beginning "Bless my restless mind" expresses my thoughts exactly. Amen, again!
In light of the anger and cruelty that so plagues the world in these difficult times, this poem illuminates that which I think God had in mind for the human spirit. If only more could understand and embrace these loving thoughts and humility. Beautifully, written, Audrey. :-)
A beautiful poem. It touched my heart.
Thanks for sharing.
Such a beautiful poem and prayer--It is heartfelt!
I do believe in the power of prayers. Thank you.
If only every person would believe and pray for God's will in their life. I know you miss your son, but isn't it wonderful knowing that he is safe with God and you will see him again? Your prayer touched me in a beautiful way. Thank you Audrey...
This was a wonderful prayer Audrey. I'm always moved by a sincere prayer. Your prayer touched me so deeply that I want to read more of your articles. God bless you! :-)
Audrey, Once again you have my condolences ...my commiserations. About your poem, it is one of the most beautiful, insightful and loving prayers that I have seen on HP. I commend your heart of beauty and indomitable Faith.
Last night I wrote to you on e-mail. I also held you in my thoughts at my Centre of worship. In my two poems to you of some two and a half years ago, I mentioned Todd in Heaven. Lovingly, of course, and I still remember. Is it him?
Your poem is so beautiful! Of course the message of your sadness is also there, and I repeat that I'm sending you some garlands from my Heart. God is the Author of all Garlands, of course; indeed our infinite Source of Love and I dare say that I highly appreciate your looking in this direction. Again, I wish you more inner strength and deepest Fortitude.

Beautiful, not over-emotional, but definitely universal. I couldn't answer the question as to whether I believe in prayer or not, because I am not sure. I do, however, pray every day. I try to communicate with God and I think he is there for me and with me.
But regardless of all that, this is just me saying to you that I love what you have written.
And for what it's worth, bless you.
Beautiful prayer and poem, and I teared up at the words about your son, I am so sorry again, said it lots of times over the years, but still I remember him or what you told us about him, xx
You made me happy with your prayer. Thank you for this.
What a nice prayer to join with you in. It makes me happy to read and offer up such a prayer. Thank you
Beautiful write Audrey!
Death is so final far as communication goes but I heard you say " Thor art within me I listen and I hear I understand not the mystery of life." That told me you are spiritual and look in not up for Your God. God is a spirit in you and you know that spirit has been good to and for you as you navigated your life. The spirit of your love one is not dead and can't die unless you forget. You knew and communicated with your love one's spirit and knew his spirit better then the Holy Spirit. You touch and held a body and spirit, the body is gone but rejoice in his spirit. You are blessed to miss someone, I feel your pain not all but some. I will pray for your peace of mind now.
This is a model prayer for the times we live in today. Prayer does change things and we should be relentless in our daily approach to heaven's throne on behalf of others.
I agree with Bill. With all that is going on in the world it is nice to read about the search for hope and goodness.
I hope your prayer is answered. These are trying times we live in.
love,
bill
