A Divorce Pantoum
I think backwards and mark each spot with an X
There are so many things that must be said again
when our relationship changed after sex,
To map out a life with me with my kids, a plan.
There are so many things that must be said again
Where do we save all this new living document
to map out a life of me with my kids, a plan,
Details on calendar squared up to my advent.
Where do we save all this new living document?
On my white chest, a Godzilla, a bronze Unicorn,
Details on calendar squared to my Advent,
brightly colored instruments, most of them foreign.
On my white chest a Godzilla, a bronze unicorn,
what used to fit into a much bigger property,
brightly colored instruments, most of them foreign
not enough space for a sense of unity.

It certainly takes a while to sort out a new life, especially one we didn't particularly want to see; been there, done that - twice! But now I'm glad it all went that way. Better things arrive!

I do not regret having divorced; would not be back into that. Maybe you write something more optimistic on divorce, one day. :)

A divorce is sad, I know I've been there. It takes time, but life goes on, and if you're lucky it gets better..Yea...

Jamie, it is such a sad event
When two people become discontent
With differences they cannot vent
And they have lost the way
Of what loving meant
