A Demure and a Frowzy

A Demure and a Frowzy

a thought , a moment , an idea

is enough to be a cynic , a saint ,
or a killer to wreck havoc on the earth

a word , a glance , a tongue
is enough to be a lover , a foe ,
or an ascetic to renounce the world

what we need is
a lithe sclera , a wide look ,
and a soft glance to hold on the life

a hand caresses so tender
and it throttles like a devil too
a heart longs for love
and it turns into a dagger to hurt

a guy picks nectar out of life
and he turns pollen into poison
a wind hurls soft smiles
and it tornadoes a whole world

a life elates in currents of awe
and it endures torrents on end
a birth brings up a boon for guys
and it melts swift into the mist

Life , you are dense good
and you are awesome bad too
you are a deep zion we die to build up
and an ace abyss too you are

how can I ignore and go my way
you are a mean demure
who makes me mad
and you are a lush frowzy
who keeps teasing like hell

Excellent poem, pointing towards the different shades of life.

There are differences, contrasts, contradictions, along with the sweetness, compassion, love, and this is how life goes on. And, I believe that’s the way it should be. Unless, we experience the negative things, we won’t be able to value the positive things associated with life.

        Thanks for sharing. Well done.

Ha ...ha.. Eric , I think I 've chosen some hilarious words from the dictionery for writing this poem. Does frowzy mean something different other than messy. My friend , I appreciate and thank you for taking extra efforts to decipher all about this poem.

Just another thanks. Good on you for frowzy. On third reading I am seeing my frowzy. What a strange creature I am, My son will know it today. Maybe good for his psych. It will just go in today, but come out later.

Intriguing ! Yes John , it seems somewhat perplexing. We come across sour and sweet experiences of life. I 've tried to portray all that in a few words.

It's frowzy and not drowsy , frowzy means messy or a guy who creates problems at every step.

Thanks for going through the hub and for presenting valuable comments.

Thank you Eric , this is about how guys act so different. Life also appears with ups and downs. Around this , I 've woven threads of this poem.

This was quite intriguing, Harish. I have read and reread but it’s meaning still escapes me. Well written however. What is a “drowsy?”

Tough one to read, writing perfect but message harsh. Time for reflection I figure. Good job friend.
