Reminiscing Sweet Memories

There will never be a day like the day your baby is born.

There will never be a day like the day your baby is born.

The Backdrop

The following poem is in response to Brenda Arledge’s word prompt. This week, Brenda has given as a new word prompt, “Memories”. Once again, I have scribbled a poem and tried my best to express my feelings into the poem. Hope Brenda and my new hubber friends like it.

Memories is such a big word, on which you cannot write few lines. One has countless memories. Some memories are beautiful, some are painful. Some memories teach you a lesson to remember, you should not take them as granted.

Childhood memories are the sweetest where there were no worries and stress at all. Happy moments with grandparents are unforgettable. How can I forget the time spent with my cousins? we all used to meet during our school vacations. Together we used to have lots of fun. Even the school life was amazing. They were the golden days which can be only remembered now.

The Poem is About

Of all the memories of my life, the closest one is the day I became a mother. Having a baby is an inestimable blessing of God. It is a miracle that made my life complete. A baby feels your life with lots of love. It gives your life a new meaning to live with. That day all my family members, relatives and friends, everyone was happy for me and baby. The following poem is all about this day.

A Day to Remember - Poem

I reminisce one Friday morning of my past,

when Allah (God) blessed me with you.

Your first cry is still fresh in my mind,

that is most memorable experience of my life,

that I wanted before I conceived you.

I recall my fear of going into C-section,

fear of your well-being on my water break before labor.

My strength and courage I came to know.

Your chubby pink face, soft little hands,

Tiny little feet, cute yawning,

Stole my heart away.

Your first sight is still fresh in my mind,

though you came out looking like your dad.

I think of the very first time I hold you,

I was overwhelmed by love and affection

with a strong desire of caring and protecting you.

Your cute toothless smile at me

made me forget my stress.

Time flies so fast,

you too are growing fast.

Giving me a new experience each day,

turning them into beautiful memories.

One day you will be all grown-up

but for me you will always be my precious

little baby I once held in my arms.

Sometimes, it's better to bunk a class and enjoy with friends, because now, when I look back, marks never make me laugh, but memories do.

I agree with your introduction memories are countless.

Those childhood memories are the greatest.

Your poem, "A Day To Remember" is absolutely a precious memory.

It is such a scary time filled with so much stress.

Especially in your case having a C-section.

That first cry will be in your heart forever.

Seeing your baby for the first time melts your heart.

Immediately you get that overwhelming desire to care & protect your little one.

It's amazing how your stress disappears.

You tell us how time goes by so quickly but you want to make memories while your child is still young.

There is no doubt she will always be your little girl...no matter how many years pass.

The quote is cute too.

Memories do last a lifetime.

You did a wonderful job on writing this one.

So heartfelt and paints a picture for us.

I will post a link in the word prompt article.

Great work.
