A Call from the Sea

The rocking motion soothes you.

Brings you to the edge of your mind.

Gives you the courage to release.

As you let go,

The wind whips your hair and the smell of the sea envelops you.

All that is left is to be submerged.

You hit the water and drop.

The water engulfs you, cradles you.

Cold shock turns warm and eases the pain in your body.

You no longer feel pain. All you feel is the welcome.

The water washes away your fears.

Clarity hitting you as the adrenaline courses through you

As you lay underneath the surface,

The decision is yours.

Break through and breath.

Or, stay submerged and let go.

The water calls to me but only for peace snd tranquility.

Thinking of staying submerged is a bit scary.

I think I will sit along the bank.

Good write

Wonderful poem. What I learnt from this poem is to face your fears, don't hesitate to try something new. On the first day of swimming, one gets nervous and scared. But as soon as that person touches the water, fear vanishes and only enthusiasm to learn swimming is left. Very positive and amazing poem. Thanks for sharing.
