Poem – Slowly Taper Off
Please cut back on the drinking.
It has changed your way of thinking.
You have changed completely.
It has changed the essence of you.
The spirits are affecting your spirit,
detrimentally too.
Please cut back on the drinking.
If you don’t, your ship might soon be sinking.
It won’t affect just you.
It will affect your family too.
So, drink a little less today
than you did yesterday.
Drink a little less tomorrow
than you do today.
Slowly taper off
and most importantly,
pray, pray, pray.
I write this to offer
encouragement
to the alcoholic.
The tendency to drink
is not necessarily bucolic.
City, country.
Country, city.
It occurs in all walks of life.
One commonality though
is that
it can severely damage
the relationship between man and wife.
Poem – Dollars, Dollars, Dollars
Poem – Dollars, Dollars, Dollars
Dollars, Dollars, Dollars
spent
mostly just to pay the rent.
Dollars, Dollars, Dollars
earned can not buy
what I truly yearn
for.
Your love.
Please bring it back.
I’ll be waiting
for you
at the door.
Poem - Memories
Poem - Memories
The memories of you are starting to fade.
I close my eyes and think about you intentionally.
The memories of you are starting to fade.
I have to conjure them up.
I am just here dreaming,
while you are out there scheming?
What will you do next?
You have already done so much to make me vexed.
But you like to keep me on my toes,
so and so, this drama grows.
The memories of you are starting to fade.
Did the good memories outweigh the bad?
Did the happy times outweigh the sad?
I try to think of it that way.
The memories of you are starting to fade.
I have other things to do.
I have to go on living.
It is not all about you.
