A Blossoming Rose

Raizen is a high school student with numerous awards relating to poetry and literature as well as a literary writer for the journalism club.

A rose grows in your presence from deep within my soul

It takes root just far enough for I to feel

Yet only so that one can take and bestow it upon you

Your presence caused it to grow, but you are not the only one

Family, friendship, and others of significance

The roses don't discriminate; they blossom and take shape

Some take time. With years in interval, while some grow in minutes

Others find it difficult to give the roses,

There are ones who are even fearful that the other refuse

But a rose is a rose, and it grows without question

with or without explanation

Even so, with the rose that I bestow,

It is you who can only tell, if the same rings true for me as well

That a rose grew in your presence
