A Blanket of White

Terrie is a mother and her love of writing poetry, music, and quotes have led her back, to explore more of her creative side.

a-blanket-of-white

Here you are again, falling from the sky.

Soft, white and new, snowflakes from on high.

Your complex designs are amazing.

Each one's beauty, has me contemplating.

Covering over the remains of fall.

A winter wonderland, the bell of the ball.

A complete transformation of the season.

Your part in natures renewal is the reason.

Covering everything in pure white snow.

Protecting plants from the cold as you go.

Children playing in the fresh clean snow.

What delight in the season they show.

Rolling the snow into a ball.

Celebrating winters call.

Soon your time will be complete.

When the willows start to peek.

I know the snow will go.

Then spring begins to show.

The blanket of white,

Will say good night.

Until it comes home again,

Just like a long lost friend.

Hi Larry, thank you. I am glad it made you smile. we have had such cold weather now, I'd rather just have snow.

A beautiful poem, Terrie. I love it. We had our first little snow of about an inch last night. Your poem made me smile. We get little snow here in Raleigh, NC and I often think of my long life in the Pocono Mts. of PA where we got much snow.

Thank you Jackie. Yes it is exciting. It is unusual for us to be above zero this time of year. Now the snow is melting and becoming more like ice.

Great poetry and I just saw flurries outside my window. Don't think it will be anything but that first snow is so exciting isn't it?

Thank you Gypsy. I really love the first snow, when it's soft and delicate, covering eveything like a blanket. Have a great weekend.
