A Bit of a Mess - A Poem

Author:
a-bit-of-a-mess

distraction
curiosity
I drown in
the feeling
you bring

a story playing out
different from how we
planned it to be

can we rewrite a new ending

silence
ignored
left wondering

wandering
without your
presence

quiet dread
in the dead
of night

a prophecy
of our love
yet unfulfilled

will it always be
this way

I don’t want to
reminisce anymore
I want to create
a new start

with you

new memories
to overwrite
and erase the
past and all its
darkness

the timing will never be perfect
the present is all we have
it’s a little messy right now
but love has always been
a bit of a mess

Your poem is lovely. Love can be a bit of a mess, as you have explained so well.

Life's little surprises will leave us thinking for sure. Love of life is our key to treading through emotions we would like to avoid. Good poem subject, thank you for sharing it with us.

Elise,

This poem is absolutely a work of perfection.

It is written well and the words flow with the meaning of the story quite clear.

silence

ignored

left wondering.....i love this. This one word style in your writing gives so much impact.

Thank you for sharing this one.

You use poetry to convey the mixed up feelings of life and emotions well.
