A Battle

Israel is a fan of many types of music and loves to write, not in any particular order and does them usually at the same time.

I came,

Then I saw,

Across the withered parched land,

Bodies among bodies that lay waste,

The wind blows in one direction,

Sweeping up the loose dirt with it,

Changing direction as if has a life of its own,

Howling along its merry way,

A sky that is dreary of gray rumbling clouds,

Light struggles to fight its way through,

Strikes of lightning in the distance,

What monstrosities lay beyond,

Shattered weapons run a muck next to the lifeless,

A battle that was brutally raged,

Hearts tainted forever unbound,

Souls lost to the darkness of hate,

So many lives expended,

At what cost?

Our humanity?

The very being of internal self?

I walk carefully,

Every step calculated,

A purpose,

As to not disturb the fallen,

Contorted faces of anguish,

Eyes that bare pain,

Open - staring ominously at the sky,

Leaving a cruel world,

Redemption on the other side,

We can only hope,

For the sky continues to rumble,

And the lighting makes it presence known once again...
