Poem One

Tenderness Fits the Bill

I’m calling out to you

merciful tenderness and light hue

Please come my way

send a kind say

that whispers comfort to my heart

I am scanning Descartes

earth ocean and heaven

day in and day out of seven

only to be met

with a silent inlet

full still and tight

running the plight

of an ironic universe that is terse

The wall of my left breast

pains and tightness with the stress

I’m so exhausted and fatigued

fearing my body will not be relieved

on the last night on the hill

This is the fate of the three swords words of shrill

Sword one to cut off

Sword two to cut into

and sword three to cut down and chew

Poem Two

The Sword of Harm

Gaping succulent wounds

lie near the surface bound

swollen and bleeding

Now a massacred heart and soul breeding

and seeping into

a surrounding sea of hate goo

whetting the hawk’s appetite

to peck until dawn with might

The beak cutting into one’s spirit

destroying through ridiculing garrottes

slicing away at many lifetimes

of hard worn brass and purification grimes

Soul and mind now cast

into superfluous ashes of vast

This shadowing silhouette beats

to a drum of anguish within the streets

that does not break

into wine and bread outtake

Only rabbit stew making

of the heartbreaking handshake

Poem Three

A Slice of You

The heart is the seat

of warmth affection and life sweet

Of orange tulip

envies not the rose spruced up

nor the sun

but the morning glory redone

together with the blue sky

and the caress of a light breeze chi

Each gives rise

to soft breasted joy sighs

warmth is splintered

when words are wintered

by slicing chopping and belittling

the innocence of flame in the middle

When shame was invented

and where bile is cemented

it slimes like a burst grape

the stranger’s agape

Intentions to break your soul

so you shatter and become a hole

spraying pomegranate seeds

receding the stranger’s rage that has succeeded

and seen scarfed in the sea of red

before all heads

This stranger is a joy killer

leaving trails of death and disease to spill

This is her rose

Bluer than blue of pose

Maybe you are in the middle of a screaming match with your wife or husband and you have said words that you wish you hadn’t. Maybe it’s coldness and indifference that keeps coming your way. Or, perhaps you have let your emotional personal life enter into your business day to day life. Or, the lies never stop coming. Then again maybe, it is about crushed hopes.

This is about pain that keeps coming in different directions.

Your “No” is not getting through.

Here, I say to you, keep repeating to yourself you can take care of things. Stay focused on what the right course of action is and stay focused on the glass half full.

Your opening "Gaping succulent wounds," was both descriptive as well as sound, without blur. I love all of your poems, but the Second One really captured my heart.

And always remember that I admire your works.

      Happy Fourth.
