Faith and Life
Everyone has some kind of faith. Even those who claim to have have no faith, have faith. Their faith is built on their trust that their is no God to answer to in the end. The poems in this grouping are for those whose faith is centered on the existence of God. Each poem is built around certain aspects of faith. I hope you enjoy the poems and remember even if you don’t believe in God, He still believes in you.
“In my distress I called to the LORD; I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears.” - Psalm 18:6
Man likes to run
Away
From the trials
In life, which come
In our eyes
We hide the fear
Of our lost control
Stopped in out tracks
We beg for freedom
For a life
With a few smiles
Like before
To that point we move on
Trying to replace
Emptiness with a style
When over the course of years
All we needed to do
Was call out
With a voice as a child
Rescue me
Rescue me
Come into my life
Tame the wild
Stop, listen to the voice
Which calms the fears
Stills the gale in your mind
Stop right where you are
Put an end to the wild ride
Lift up your heart to the One
Who'll come stand by your side
“Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy.” - Proverbs 31:8-9
Get up, get up
Get up, get up
Go out, go out
Go out, go out
Doot do do,do, do, doot doot
How can the people know
if our lips are sealed
How can they find their way
If they’re not told
We were called
Not to be silent
Not to stay in our seats
We were called
To get up, go out
Take the news both
Far near
Get up, get up
Let them hear
How can the people know
if our lips are sealed
How can they find their way
If they’re not told
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11
Oh what a puzzle
Is what we call life
Each day we add a piece
Hopin' to place it right
Sometimes it works out
Other times it don't
So we choose another piece
And try to move on
Sometimes we get impatient
Don't want to wait
So we try to force
The piece into place
Each time it doesn't fit
We get annoyed
Deep in our heart we think
We've made the right choice
God sees the puzzle
That we call life
He sees it complete
Each piece placed right
We don't have to struggle
Placing the pieces on our own
We can ask God to help us
See where each piece goes
He has the patience
To help us wait
So we won't try to put
A piece in the wrong place
Cause with God's guidance
We won't get annoyed
Deep in heart we must thank
God for making the right choices
“In the morning sow your seed, and at evening withhold not your hand, for you do not know which will prosper, this or that, or whether both alike will be good.” - Ecclesiastes 11:6
God tells us just sow the seeds
Sow the seeds, sow the seeds
God tells us to sow the seeds
Sow the seeds, sow the seeds
He'll do the rest
Cause God is the gardener
He tends His crops so well
He gives them their water
He shines down the Son
Then lovingly watches over them
Til the harvest is done
God tells us just sow the seeds
Sow the seeds, sow the seeds
God tells us to sow the seeds
Sow the seeds, sow the seeds
He'll do the rest
Cause God is the gardener
He tends His crops so well
He gives them their water
He shines down the Son
Then lovingly watches over them
Til the harvest is done
All we are called to do for Him
Is to plant in each heart a seed
God will take care of the rest
He knows what each person’s needs
Cause God is the gardener
He tends His crops so well
He gives them their water
He shines down the Son
Then lovingly watches over them
Til the harvest is done
God tells us just sow the seeds
Sow the seeds, sow the seeds
God tells us to sow the seeds
Sow the seeds, sow the seeds
He'll do the rest
Some Final Thoughts
There you have four poems dealing with faith, the Bible and and how they tie into your daily life. I hope you enjoyed them and they lifted up your spirit just a little. Until next time remember to remain faithful and to let your line shine. The Bible says in Psalm 119:105, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Which can also mean the words you speak to others can be the only light they will see in their stressful day.

Thank you for your kind words.

These poems are good.
I so enjoyed the one where life is a puzzle where we keep trying to put the pieces together.
If only we would stop to ask God...he definitely does help us put those pieces together.
