Why I Write Poetry and Short Stories

Author:

I love to write poetry and short stories. I also enjoy experimenting with different things with cooking!

My Truth

Writing helps me become better than what I am. Whether it's poetry or it's short stories, it's always helping me. I write poetry and short stories for two different reasons and I will tell you those reasons!

Why I Write Poetry

With poetry, I love writing it because it relaxes me. I have bad anxiety sometimes and one of my coping mechanism is to write things down. It can be random words or a couple of sentences but it would sometimes help me feel better.

When I was in high school, I was going through a rough patch and I would write poetry. I found that it really helped when I was feeling overwhelmed. Now, a few years later and I'm still writing poetry!!

Why I Write Short Stories

I write short stories because I love visioning different lives. I love to sit and write about a woman sitting in a cafe when she meets her soulmate. Or two people, who hate each other, must work together to save the world. I love that because it's so fascinating to vision and even more fascinating to write.

It also gives me a chance to try more when it comes to my imagination. It helps me build strength in my story telling ability and it helps my self-esteem.

Final Thoughts

Writing to me is putting things I find worthy to paper. It means giving the words in my head a sense of meaning. It means to tell a story that people would want to read or listen to. Thanks for reading this!

See you later darlings!
