Kenneth does have a passive attitude toward certain issues in life, but not with sexual harassment and bullying. I can't let these areas go.

Let us Meet Super-Star

Richard Tiffany Gere geer; (born August 31, 1949) is an American actor. He began in films in the 1970s, playing a supporting role in Looking for Mr. Goodbar (1977) and a starring role in Days of Heaven (1978). He came to prominence with his role in the film American Gigolo (1980), which established him as a leading man and a sex symbol. He went on to star in many well-received films, including An Officer and a Gentleman (1982), The Cotton Club (1984), Pretty Woman (1990), Sommersby 1993), Primal Fear (1996), Runaway Bride (1999), I’'m Not There (2007), Arbitrage (2012) and Norman: The Moderate Rise and Tragic Fall of a New York Fixer (2016). For portraying Billy Flynn in the Academy Award-winning musical Chicago (2002), he won a Golden Globe Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award as part of the cast.

Just look at the body of work that Gere has produced. I wonder. Does he have to pay anything to (another) super-star, Cindy Crawford, who Gere married in 1991, only to divorce her in 1995. Then there was Carey Lowell, who married Gere in 2002, only to be divorced in 2016. And now, Gere, 69, is going to have a baby with Alejandra Silva, who is a Spanish publicist.

Now to be Fair to

Alejandra Silva, I wanted to give her as much copy as Richard Gere. Come to find out that Silva worked as an intern inThe Farmad agency in Madrid, and in 2005 she accepted a position in sales and marketing at a private firm in the airplane industry.Silva also chairs a non-profit organization that helps underprivileged children for medical help and other needs. She also is a well-known philanthropist and by just these good deeds, no wonder that Richard Gere and Silva fell in love. I think that they are made for each other.

I am not envious of Richard Gere although I admit that he is one of the world’s best-looking men, maybe I should say, sensitive men. But 69? Okay. I have no problem with Gere and Silva having a baby, and for that matter, why not have a house full? I might say the same thing with two other super-stars, Brad Pitt and Angelia Jolie. Say. Were these two ever seen in a divorce court? Maybe you keep up with Hollywood’s marrying and divorcing, but I am not. I just think that I wish that my wife and I had the scratch that Pitt, Josie, Gere and Silva and the former wives have. We would be so happy—out of debt and able to help those who cannot help themselves. Am I too strong in this belief?

I Tell You, Friends

I am 65 (this is key to the end of this hub) and Richard Gere is 69, but let’s be real honest. Gere looks so much better. I wager that he is on a highly-disciplined training regiment such as free weights, Military Grade exercise and only eating healthy foods, and getting the right amount of rest.

But now that I have brought it out, Gere, you and Silva can kiss those long, leisurely day sand nights farewell. When you have (a) baby, your life instantly-changes. You and your wife have to tag-team the duties of raising the little tot. One to get up at 2 am. for feeding and you up at 4 a.m. for another feeding. Just remember, you are 69. And unless you know something about nature that I don’t (and that is lot), then your 69-year-old body is going to take several hits with early feedings, teething, and other baby-related things.

I think that I have over-sold you and Silva. You and your companion have tons of scratch, so you can afford one, two, maybe three nurses and a nanny, so you and Silva can go about your business and the little one will be given the best of everything. What really opens my eyes is Richard, you are 69, and you and your wife, Alejandra, are having your FIRST baby! I have to ask. Why didn’t you and Cindy Crawford, or Carey Lowell, have kids? I am sure that your financial portfolio was not very small, but BIG in rural terms of northwest Alabama.

In complete honesty, I think that super-model and Pepsi spokesgirl, Cindy Crawford is much better looking than Alejandra Silva and that is not a knock on Silva and since I do not know that much about Carey Lowell, so I will leave her alone.

Still, I cannot get past Richard Gere being 69. He must be in tip-top physical shape. I can speak honestly, I am far from tip-top shape for 65, and for a big part of my health short-comings, I cannot apologize—because in 2003, my body was attacked from within by Fibromyalgia that besides sending my body waves of pain, the poison from my ruptured appendix, burned all of my nerve endings and cannot be helped.

So, Richard, if you are reading this piece, congratulations to you and Alejandra for the upcoming birth of your first baby. I sincerely hope that the child is happy and goes on to fulfill a wonderful, full destiny. And as for Ajendra, just let me say out of pure respect that I think that you are one smoking girl. I would have said, gal, but I am afraid that Richard would storm from his mansion and track me down and whip my butt.

Wait! I’m not worried. Gere is 69, and now, the best part: I’m 65.

Dear Liz, you have a solid point. Young mothers. I recall when my mom and I would talk about her young life and she said to me that (in her time), a girl who was 17 or older, was considered a spinster.

        I almost fainted.

But she was one wise lady.

        Write me anytime.

You make a good point. Yesterday I noticed photos of Mick Jagger and another band member playing on a beach with their young children. Charlie Chaplin fathered children when he was older than the average father too. I marvel at their stamina, but maybe we should consider the role of the younger mothers and an entourage of nannies and paid help.
