She has been writing poems when she was young and recently sharpening her writing skills to pursue her desire of becoming a writer.
Thought to ponder
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
— H. Jackson Brown Jr., P.S. I Love You
Putting your dream into action is the hardest part of our being especially for the young ones, with the right guidance and support parents can bring to the light and learn the hidden talent of their child. However, it is not too late to discover yourself as you age, some talents are late to develop and need to be discovered.
The forgotten dream
I dreamt of becoming a writer when I was young. I thought of it since the day I laid my hands on fairytale storybooks that I borrowed from the library, but I did not entertain the idea. I don't know perhaps it's because of fear, the dreadful thought of being rejected, that no one would like it crossed my mind a hundred times. Also, I never thought that I can write creatively to persuade the audience to read my stuff. Although I made articles for requirements or assignments in school like making formal themes, I never had any appreciation from my teacher or to anyone who can assess that I had the ability. So I just let the idea slip away in my mind without even trying. And I end up reading stories that I love. Although, I do enjoy reading because it would take you in a realm you have never been before.
“There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure.”
— Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist
When I was in high school, we have a school newspaper and, I love to read it. Again, it entered my thought to submit a copy of my poem, but I still hesitated. I lack the confidence to do it and, worried about my grammar. The same fears kept on bothering me. Hence I kept it privately and bury myself in my pocketbooks. I envy my schoolmates who have the courage to publish their material to show off their God-given talents.
In college, I started to wrote poems whenever I feel inspired, discouraged or not busy in schoolwork, but I still kept it to myself. I was so shy to let others saw it. Though there are times that my colleagues accidentally saw my poems they don't have any bad or good comments about it.
In the advent of technology, we can check the synonyms of the words instantly, and we can research information that we do not know. There are also apps to check grammar and spelling such as Grammarly or Ginger. Thus, I gain the confidence to share my skill in Social Media. Just recently I have posted my first article here in Hubpages (https://hubpages.com/family/Inspired-by-God). Plus I love the feeling when I have given myself a try. Time will come that I will not regret that I have decided to attempt this new endeavor. Well, I guess its never too late to explore oneself as long as you are ready to embrace the circumstances.
Know what you love to do.
I have also acquired experiences which I am willing to share with the readers. In addition, I begin to love writing because it is said to be a way to de-stress, and stimulates your brain bringing out your creativity. Furthermore, writing has helped me face the ordeal when I lost my mother and father, it serves as my therapy.
I know I have a lot to learn when it comes to writing professionally but, at least I have begun a new career. So, assert yourself and consider what you prefer to do that's the start of achieving your dream.

We all live with the fear of being rejected. But we must face our fears in order to overcome them. Once we face them, they no longer exist.
I like your hub and the personal experiences you've shared. Thank you.
