One Lone Soul

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

Article Summary

"One Lone Soul" is a short piece about learning what it is like to take someone for granted.

We all want someone to be there for us when we get older, but we don't appreciate what is right in front of us at the time.

I Remember A Time

I remember a time when I went out with guys to see if I could make their heads spin.

Luckily it was short lived, but it was an exciting adventure.

It was a phase I had to go through to get past the pain I was hiding inside.

I Remember A Day

I remember a day when I heard a knock on my door. Someone stopped by unexpectedly.

We shared an afternoon together and had a wonderful time. We discovered the meaning of afternoon delight.

But he got upset when I asked him to leave because I had a date coming to pick me up.

I honestly didn’t understand why he was mad.

Afterall, I didn’t know he was stopping by and I had already made plans for the evening.

I suppose I could’ve cancelled the date, but I didn't want to be rude. So, I had him leave.

He never forgave me.

Do we think a good sex life is more important than having someone who truly loves us?

Do we all fear failure so much that we are willing to sacrifice true happiness?

As we grow older, we realize what we really want, but it’s often too late to turn back the clock.

We Want Someone

We want someone who will stand by our side.

Someone who is dependable and has our back. Who won’t run away when times get tough.

That one lone soul who deeply cares for us.
