Sara is a Civil Engineer and a creative writer who loves to write poetry, biographies, non-fiction stories to build strong relationships.

I started my day with a cup of tea and two slices. The drizzling rain patted the window and it’s the indication that winters are knocking.

Just a few years back I quit my engineering job and started to carry out experiments with colors. I encountered this idea of portraying lively themes on canvas when I first saw a 5-year-old kid performing his duty as a beggar on streets. What would be the future of these kids? The dreadful storm inside me can’t let me sleep for many days. One day I decided to portrait that scene reflecting the social issues.

Good Reads give Strength to Move on:

I really admire one the Steve Jobs quotes, He said;

“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don’t settle.”

Personal Experience:

I dragged my chair near the window. The cup of coffee giving me warmth and I started to recall some pleasant memories.

During the first few years of my struggle, I remember one of my best interviews. It was in an old architecture building. Throughout a month, daily I visited this because it’s that place that showed me my talent and passion I was looking for. I entered from the back gate, as usual, shake hands with a security guard, again, with bright eyes and wrinkled face, he smiled back. I used to spend time with him whenever I got free time. He was an amazing person who used to tell me about his eye-sighting events of India-Pakistan partition. Those meetings helped me to visualize and portraying the masterpieces on canvas later on. Yesterday, hundreds of people appeared in sketching test and today the jury has to finalize the results. Deep down I was stressed, fear petrified my thinking. My name called out loudly for an interview. Feelings of nervousness tried to collapse my castle of thoughts. The corridor walls were painted red and distempering was needed to hide nude faces of bricks. Some parts of this ancient building were showing traces of British era. Just before entering into the jury room, I caught an eye on some astonishing masterpieces of the students and wished mine to be hanged soon on this wall. I took a deep breath and get inside the room. I showed them my portfolio.

Ace an Interview:

Interview started…

Q: Describe yourself! One of the members poses a question to me.

Ans: I know they asked me to keep me relaxed and in a Pacific state of mind. I am Khizar Mubeen. I narrated my academic journey till now and kept my focus in my area of interests, and the position I applied for heaved with my experience and bonus points. My passion keeps my work sparkling and helps in accomplishing my desired vision.

Q: What is your vision?

Ans: I have seen many setbacks in my professional as well as personal life. I felt those hurdles were there to keep me much stronger and polished my inner potential to move on. My vision is to keep the new generation aware regarding the sacrifices of Pakistan because I painted the stories I heard from different witnesses of that time. You must have seen nature in my portfolio. Nature speaks itself. As in the Book named Alchemist “It is the language of the universe”. Respect the nature the way it keeps us healthy. The love for humanity is obviating, my work will act a medium which made people think regarding their family bonding and flourishing their relationships.

Q: What would you want your title to be when you retire?

Ans: “A Great Mentor”. I want to bring positivism in youth by my work. The clouds of sadness, depression, and anxiety should be vanished and replaced with enthusiasm and integrity.

Q: Describe your life using film titles?

Ans: Yeah it’s quite an interesting question. So far I don’t remember any film that resembles my life but yes if someone would like to make my life’ biopic then I would suggest the name as “Epitome for Youth.”

Q: If you could eliminate any bad habit for students, what would it be and why?

Ans: I would suggest them to “Avoid shortcuts”. It’s one of our society’s bitter truths that everybody wants an overnight success. I remember the quote of Steve Jobes;

“If you really look closely, most overnight successes took a long time.”

Q: If you may get rejected, what would you do?

Absolutely, this is the great platform to excel with my abilities and explore more. I believe I put in best of my sincere hard work to travel such a long way.

If I may get rejected due to some reason, I will keep on following my dreams. As according to David Frost; Don't aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally.

I am pretty sure about my passion, my strengths and skills to move on towards my goals. I believe Passion never gets you tired.

Q: Do you feel bad if you are not selected?

Ans: Of course, that’s natural. I will consider this failure as a ladder to my success. I will surely work on the areas that require improvements. I smiled and said, Behind every successful man is a proud wife and surprised mother-in-law. (Hubert H. Humphrey).

I am hoping I will not let them down.

They all laughed. One of the jury members said that’s the spirit and spark we are looking for. You are in.

Stay True to Your Vision:

My coffee was almost finished but drizzling has converted into heavy rains. I was still thinking about that cherish moment of pride.

Don’t let the circumstances to treat you the way life is moving, instead, be courageous enough to overcome the state of sadness and depression. Make a habit to think for the new perspective of life.

I have never got away from my track. My passion keeps my vision alive and that’s my main thing.
