I Wasn't Going to Write Today: Moving Forward With Love, by Manatita

Manatita is an esteemed author living in London, UK. He writes spiritual books, flash fiction and esoteric poetry, his favourite genre.

Aphorisms of Sri Chinmoy

"There is only one perfect road

And that road is ahead of you,

Always ahead of you."

"Do not stop dreaming!

One day your world-peace-dream

Will inundate the entre world." - Sri Chinmoy

I wasn't going to write today. I still don't know where I'm going other than the fact that the Inner Pilot, is asking me to write.

Life has been challenging for many and as such me, too. Why me? I feel great! I'm able to pay the bills, I have shelter and food and everything I need right now to sustain life. Yet God is Consciousness (Spirit) I rather love those words! Chuck in Omnipresence and you will begin to see that we are all in this together.

Nothing is divided - try as we may - or separate. Each man's death diminishes me and when a President is impeached in America, it vibrates around the world. Such is the nature of Oneness ... consciousness, Spirit ... life-energy. Call it what you will.

How did we get where we are? We are all sparks of Love --strands on the sitar of the music of life - sent here by an Absolute Impersonal, for the purposes of growth, renewal, delight and self-transcendence.

Harmony, not division. They were all spiritual travellers too

We are all dimly-lit candles and lanterns, striving to find our way, like Perseus, in this maze or labyrinth of darkness. Nevertheless, as in Plato's 'allegory of the cave', night is of an ephemeral nature and Love, like a Boddisatva, stands at the tunnel's mouth and beckons us, to come forward to our eternal Home.

Yet for seemingly ordained reasons, we walk with a befuddled mind or immature heart, eating thorns, like the Camel, even though our mouths bleed. Change has always been an inner thing ... transformation is grown and nurtured as a kernel of hope, within the inner psyche of humans ... not outside.

Manuals, parchments, scriptures, books and documents are part and parcel of the plan and do help us, yes, but ultimately, all change, comes from within. A leader is merely a catalyst to expose one's own weaknesses, otherwise Cesar or the Pharises, with their power and outer opulence, would have had an effect on the Christ.

We are all brothers and sisters in the Spirit: black, white, East and West; we all live and die together. The universal laws of 'Cause and Effect' will balance themselves out - like a Libran Pendulum - whenever we stray too far from our Maker. There's choice, all right and 'limited freedom' as the Ordainer loves us, but the Divine Mother remains the Doer and never relinquishes Her hold.

That is why the Christ and others - including my Mentor - say that they have no will of their own. They follow, like we do unconsciously, the will of the One who directs this beautiful world. Only they are giant waves, even as we remain bubbles ... with potential.

So yes, fear and insecurity holds us in a vice, designed by a master wrestler; uncertainty and loneliness tear at our hearts like daggers, and it is almost impossible to see this world of nature's grandeur.

Let us rise, like Maya Angelou and pick ourselves up. Together we can aspire and hold hands in harmony to move mountains. For we are all one in the Spirit of Light --the invisible bond of Something Higher - willing and encouraging us to be nobler, magnificent and benevolent, exemplifying in acts of virtuous deeds, to find our way Home.

- Manatita, The Lantern Carrier. 14th January (A spontaneous piece)

Aphorisms of Sri Chinmoy

"Victory means temporary peace.

But peace is eternity's victory."

"Peace reveals the absolute excellence of human life."

"If you can create harmony

In your own life

This harmony will enter into the vast world." - Sri Chinmoy

Thank you, Thank you. Much Love, Devika

Devika Primić from Dubrovnik, Croatia on January 16, 2021:

manatita44 You created a wonderful hub. Lots to grasp from your thoughtful hub.

manatita44 (author) from london on January 15, 2021:

I totally agree. As we change within, it in turn guides EVERYTHING we do and say. Yes, social justice is necessary and creates change. Altruism is necessary as is many other activities. Simply ensure that they are being guided by the inner Lignt.

Not speaking about you, but where the mind is overcrowded or in shadows, it blocks the beauty of the Heart. What we see, is always a reflection of our inner state. If your actions make you strong, then all is well. Be careful of what makes you weak.

Ruby Jean Richert from Southern Illinois on January 15, 2021:

Manatita, there are times when flowery words will not suffice. We must stand and speak out when an injustice is committed. I'm speaking about my piece I wrote about a mentally ill woman being executed.

manatita44 (author) from london on January 15, 2021:

Thank you, Rosina. Hope you are ok. Much Love.

Rosina S Khan on January 15, 2021:

I agree with Chitrangada that we think alike and that hope, faith and love make life easier. Thank you for sharing the wonderful prose, Manatita.

manatita44 (author) from london on January 14, 2021:

May or may not be so.

Some of the things I say are tested spiritual principles, so as I say to Ruby, we need to protect ourselves.

My teacher used to say that if you do not have, you cannot give, so, for example, if you read something which affects you, then pull away. Rest, listen to music ... recuperate!

Use whatever defense mechanisms to protect yourself. Life is meaningful, in so far as you are alive. If you're not, then what is it to you? So I'm saying that the message of Yoga is self first. Watch your inner fears, insecurities, uncertainties and loneliness, then think of how to deal with them. As they begin to disappear, you will fill stronger and make those around you stronger as well. Hope all that makes sense.

Heavy news can be too negative for a weaker vessel. Be careful! The old cliche of 'curiosity kills the cat' is quite meaningful.

BRENDA ARLEDGE from Washington Court House on January 14, 2021:

So glad the divine spirit worked through you today to spill your words onto the paper.

It is not like you to not write.

The words are true. I wish humanity would realize we are all in this life together, but I don't know if I will ever see this glory in my lifetime.

I had only heard rumors of this impeachment but alas it must be true.

This will divide the East & West and all people even more.

Take care & have a blessed day.

manatita44 (author) from london on January 14, 2021:

Sweet! The closer we get to God, the closer we get to man and creation. We are one. You seem to be doing well. Nature is a great healer. Awesome!

Audrey Hunt from Idyllwild Ca. on January 14, 2021:

During these trying times, I turn to my Maker petitioning him to bless me with increased kindness, forgiveness, and supreme love. Do I understand why hatred and greed abound? No. I only know that my trust is in God, not in man.

How sad, that harmony is a void between man. I remain at peace, walking through the forest, chatting with my sweet little dog, eating only plant based foods, and I've even began hugging myself every now and then.

I find ways to challenge myself and grow. I work on Beethoven Sonatas for the piano and Bach inventions. My book demands my full attention and so does my editor, Bill Holland. My aging body requires more stretching exercises. Meditating brings mindfulness.

Thank you, my brother, for this most beautiful dissertation. May you stay well, at peace, and loved.

manatita44 (author) from london on January 14, 2021:

Very sweet of you, my Didi ji.

I see you as a child of the Divine, doing your best - in the Light of your own understanding - trying to create a more beautiful life for you, family and the environment. This too, with a Conscious awareness of Divine Intelligence. More of us are needed. Thank you so much, Chitrangada ji. Hari Om Tat Sat!!

Chitrangada Sharan from New Delhi, India on January 14, 2021:

This is so thoughtful and inspirational piece of writing.

We all think alike, don’t we? Hope, faith, and love makes things easier, I agree completely. Let there be peace and harmony for everyone around the World. Prayers for everyone. Thank you for sharing.

manatita44 (author) from london on January 14, 2021:

Thanks Pamela. I always look forward to your comments, just as much as I look forward to your informative and refreshing articles. More peace to you!

Pamela Oglesby from Sunny Florida on January 14, 2021:

I wish we could "move forward with love". Your article is uplifting with your usual wisdom. I fully agree that we are all brothers and sisters, and that fear and insecurity do hold us in a vice. This is a wonderful article, Manatita. Stay safe and healthy!

manatita44 (author) from london on January 14, 2021:

Peggy, thanks for your heartfelt entreaty. I do, yet the Light is even moving as I write, forcing its way through a maze of darkness. It is never easy. Stay well and safe ... hope and pray. We'll do this together. Thank you so much!

Peggy Woods from Houston, Texas on January 14, 2021:

I like your words about storms leaving a residue that eventually gets cleared out. We are still in the midst of a storm over here in the U.S. I am praying for peace and calmer days ahead. Please add the U.S. to your prayer lists.

manatita44 (author) from london on January 14, 2021:

A little bit of wisdom, Sha, thank you.

I want to love more ... to steal that ever-elusive spice from God, adding you and Linda's recipes, to make a most exquisite and sublime meal for the spiritual Heart. Pray for me. Much Love.

Eric, mediation indeed! A bit like your 'letting go' bro. Your 'letting go.' Peace.

Eric Dierker from Spring Valley, CA. U.S.A. on January 14, 2021:

What a wonderful meditation this morning. I thank you.

Shauna L Bowling from Central Florida on January 14, 2021:

Thank you, manatita. I knew you'd bring clarity and comfort to my question. You are wise, my friend.

manatita44 (author) from london on January 14, 2021:

My pleasure. - Lantern

Ann Carr from SW England on January 14, 2021:

Thank you! I appreciate your sentiments.

manatita44 (author) from london on January 14, 2021:

Ann, this is a most beautiful comment! I thank you.

As to the illness or rather positive Covid tests in your family, I'm glad you mentioned it. I knew of the tests, but not the result.

Interesting the way it affects us. My aunt got it, probably from carers who looked after her and a few of her immediate family got it two, yet the two closest didn't, or rather had a negative test. Interesting! Hope you all get well and stay well and blessed. Peace.

manatita44 (author) from london on January 14, 2021:

No Shauna,

This could be seen as a clearing process. Windstorms leave residue, which takes time to clear out, but once done, we then have more decent streets and better homes. You're well? Lol. Teasing you again. (Wicked me) Stay blessed!

P.S. It goes without saying, that you guys have my love and prayers in these crucial few days.

manatita44 (author) from london on January 14, 2021:

Bill, chuckle. A valid point! Still, so many fertile seeds have been sown! It's only a matter of time till peace prevails. Much Love, Bro.

Ann Carr from SW England on January 14, 2021:

This is uplifting and inspiring. You express our fears and dangers well in

'So yes, fear and insecurity holds us in a vice, designed by a master wrestler; uncertainty and loneliness tear at our hearts like daggers, and it is almost impossible to see this world of nature's grandeur.'

You've summed it up well, though I always see nature's grandeur as that is often what keeps me going. I, like you, have no reason to complain, as I'm comfortable, don't have to go to work, and my family are still well (despite two with Covid but no symptoms). Nevertheless we have fears, sometimes difficult to rise above.

You have helped dispel much of mine with this, so thank you for that. Worrying doesn't make it better but being positive does. If we do it all together, then we win in the end!

Keep safe and well!

Shauna L Bowling from Central Florida on January 14, 2021:

Manatita, I love your hope and wisdom. What you say makes sense. Most of us are peaceful people who seek and yearn for harmony. How then, do men with dark souls wreak such havoc on the light of the world? Is darkness more powerful than light?

Bill Holland from Olympia, WA on January 14, 2021:

Harmony may take some time in the U.S., my friend. How do I know? We haven't achieved it since 1776. It takes us a bit longer than some to get our collective act together in this country. :)

Peace be with you, my friend. I'm glad you decided to write today.

manatita44 (author) from london on January 14, 2021:

Chuckle. You and I seem blessed Dee. So many are in this crucible of fire! The poor and extended families ... the elderly and disabled, are hit the hardest. The single working mom, juggling with kids and school, the unemployed ... You need a Hub Pages prayer circle for you guys. I'm in several! Stay safe and blessed. Glory be!

Dora Weithers from The Caribbean on January 14, 2021:

"Together we can aspire and hold hands in harmony to move mountains." Thanks for this very healthy dose of inspirational coolant in the middle of my day.

manatita44 (author) from london on January 14, 2021:

Thanks Osman. You're quicker than me here!

Welcome and gratitude... much!
