Flowers in a Meadow Flowers in our Garden Gives Life Meaning

Roses Like Us are Beautiful Thorns and All!

Grace and Grandeur of Flowers Their Beauty Brings Joy to our Hearts!

When you stroll through your local park in the springtime it is alive with colour and perfume.

Each corner you take speaks to your heart with colours so varied and enchanting.

Each flower is individual and unique. Each flower is graceful and yet grand in its existence. Each flower is accompanied by its own entourage of living creatures dependent on it for their very life. Each flower is a gift from God the Creator for your pleasure and joy. A few words of gratitude and thankfulness are spoken silently from your heart.

Flowers are more than just exquisite. Or, objects to be gifted in pretty little bunches. Flowers are so much more!

What is your favourite flower?

Mine is the perfect and beautiful, deep, velvety red English rose, thorns and all.

As I did my usual Google research for this story. A fascinating fact about flowers caught my attention. Which is?

Don’t wait for someone to bring you flowers. Plant your own garden and decorate your own soul. (Luther Burbank)

Flowers don’t worry about how they’re going to bloom. They just open up and turn toward the light and that makes them beautiful. (Jim Carrey)

A flower blooming in the desert proves to the world that adversity, no matter how great, can be overcome. (Matshona Dhliwayo)

Did you realize that along with being so very beautiful? Flowers are essential for life on earth as we know it.

Without boring you too much. Let me explain just a little.

Flowers use their beauty and their scent to attract bees, butterflies, birds, and (well I never knew this one), some species of bats. Each species of a flower attract its own unique feeders. This is why flowers display such beauty and give off such sweet perfume. Thank you, God, the Father, for the feeders!

Where do these bees, butterflies, birds and bats go? After having its fill of their favourite flower’s pollen and nectar. Do you wonder?

This is the true miracle of the cycle of life for the flowers and their feeders. The feeders travel far and wide to pollinate fruit trees, the blossoms on vegetable plants, fodder crops and so many other flowering plants. Many of these plants mankind has come to rely on.

I wonder what sort of feeders my deep, velvety red English rose attracts.

I do not have many flowers in my small garden. In the Springtime my red bottle bushes come into full bloom. Their blossoms attract bees and beautiful and graceful butterflies.

The most brilliant of them all, the Lorikeet. These very noisy birds descend on the blossoms at dawn and dusk. Feed greedily on their pollen and nectar. Always squabbling and fighting over which is the sweetest blossom.

Does your garden come alive with flowers in the Springtime?

Is your garden lit up with all the colours of a rainbow? Are you frequently visited with the pomp and grace of a butterfly? Do you place bird feeding bowls in between your flower beds to encourage even more birds? Is your garden a mini-paradise?

Another gift of flowers.

Even if you live in a small apartment you can still enjoy a living garden, in a box. Or plant a few single roses in fancy pots and place them on your veranda. Or a few flowering plants in a small bed on your balcony.

Butterflies and bees will soon find and feed on your gift. The natural colours of the flowers you have planted reflect in your heart. May even brighten the hearts of people as they pass by.

Flowers are a miracle and indeed a beauty to behold.

They feed bees, butterflies, birds and bats. I think they favour anything that starts with the letter “B”.

I am retired now. When still working a great deal of my time was spent cramped in my small office.

As so many other office workers do. I decorated this room with photos of my family. And, a few flowering pot plants.

The first thing I did each working morning was to tend to my plants and place them in a nice sunny spot for the day. They deserve no less. The comfort these small coloured plants gave me. Words cannot tell. This small, must-do-task, got me ready for another hectic work day.

Can you think of a few ways in which flowers serve you?

At your wedding? Flowers on the end of each pew, up and down each aisle. Flowers are held gently in your hand, your delicate wedding bouquet. As your walk tentatively toward your groom and life-long partner.

Throughout your life, there have been so many celebrations and events where flowers were central. Flowers played a colourful and powerful role. Your son’s and daughter’s graduation celebration parties are brightened by their colours and perfumes.

At the darkest time in your life. When a loved one passes. The many flowers adorning his coffin speak of the people who he loved and love him in return.

The single flower you place on his grave. Saying words at the time you are unable to utter.

You gently fondle this single flower throughout the ceremony. It somehow offers you comfort. Another miracle bestowed on you by the grace of a single flower.

The grace and the grandeur of this single flower comforts you as you remember the love of the person who just passed. The bright quality of who he was is imparted to his loved ones.

I didn’t realize it until conducting the required research for this story. Without flowers, life as we know it would cease to exist.

It’s a flow-on effect. Without flowers — no pollinators — no plants — no herbivores — no carnivores — no man — no life. No fun! Thank you, God, the Creator, for the feeders!

Do you agree?

Next time I gently caress my deep, velvety red English rose. I will say a few silent words of thanks to God the Creator.

Now you are aware of the essential importance of all flowers.

You will handle each with the utmost care.

Instead of purchasing cut flowers to place in a vase, which will shortly wither and die. You will buy a flowering pot plant. This flowering plant will with love and tender care last for years. A lot cheaper than constantly replacing cut flowers too, yes?

When deep down in your heart you recognize the true worth and value of flowers.

The important role they play in keeping our planet living.

You feel and know the power of each flower’s grace and grandeur.

So, with me. Devote some love and provide gentle care to your flowering plants.

A flower’s way of saying thank you for life.

Is to blossom season after season. Year after year. Providing you with visual pleasure and joy to last a lifetime. Perfume finer than any found in a bottle.

Celebrations and events shared with family and friends are brightened with flowers.

Springtime each year comes alive with colours and perfume courtesy of our gift from God the Father. Flowers.

Bees, butterflies, birds and bats feed on flowers. Travel far and wide to pollinate other flowering plants. Enriching and ensuring life as we know it continues and flourishes.
