Busy Moms Can Still Spread The Gospel

I am super excited about this blog. It answers a question that many mothers have. I have written this article out of my own experience.

Not enough hours?...

Want to know what a mother's life is like? Just look at the millions of motherhood posts on the internet. They all say the same thing - busy, busy, busy. And it is so true. I am a mother myself of a very busy three year old.

You come to terms with the fact that this is how life is going to be until they reach the 18 year mark and say: 'Mom, I'm leaving for college'. You wipe a tear off your eyes and feel like this was the goal you needed to reach...

I want to propose another goal that might seem daunting at first, but totally worth it. Consider what it would be like if mother's all around the world could put God first... Some of you might say? 'Yup, I'm doing that, but I won't be able to serve Him the way others do. Not with the crying and milk stains.' There are so many different ways we serve Him. In this particular blog, I'm addressing 'Spreading the Gospel.'

It would seem like the ideal person to serve God through missionary work, work at church, spreading Gospel pamphlets and making yourself available for all kinds of things, is the kind of person who is not tied to a lot of responsibilities. A person who can leave home or whatever they were doing to take on God's work with passion and focus. In your mind, you can already imagine calling up a nanny and telling your Pastor: 'I'll be there in an hour'. Any mother would say: 'I told you. It is just not possible!'.

Let me be the one to give you some good news. It is good news, because motherhood would never be fulfilling if we can't pass on the basic truth of creation with our children: God, life, love and everything that is clearly given to us through His Holy Word.

Revelation 12:11 says: They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.

Spread the Gospel through testimonies!

Testimonies are important and very precious to God. They share a very special and real life story about what God has done for that particular person. Testimonies are products of a breakthrough or a miracle after a trial. Testimony givers can be considered, in my opinion, to be level with anyone who spreads the Gospel with the Bible. The core of it remains the same: making God known unto all.

Matthew 28:19 - 20 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.

Encourage!

If you are a mother who teaches your child about God, I implore you not to stop there. With today's social media, mother's can use it to start blogs. It is a fulfilling experience to know that someone somewhere read your testimony and can be encouraged by it. But, we are not going to stop there either!

Imagine picking your child up from school and encouraging another mother with the Word of God. Sometimes, all it takes is: 'I will pray for you!' But, we are not going to stop there either!

Bring the young ones!

What about bringing your kids along for the experience. When there has to be something done at church and you feel led by the Holy Spirit to do it, you can ask your kids to help. Congratulations supermom! You just taught your child the basic principle of being a child of God - serving each other.

My testimony...

I would like to share my testimony. I am a very busy mother. Yet, we know that this title is actually not the only one. There are different subtitles! Doctor, comforter, teacher, psychologist, chef and sometimes...superman and spider fighter... I made myself available for all kinds of work at church. Some of it entails outreach work and simple tasks for the church itself. I have an amazing husband who understood God's plan for my life and offered to take care of my little one when I'm out.

I expected my life to become even busier. And it did. But to my surprise, it actually shaped me into the mother I am today. My little one is still trying to say the word 'Jesus' correctly. Yup, I get teary eyed every time I hear it. But I find her wanting to pray. Sometimes I hear her singing 'Jesus loves me'. It still sounds Greek, but she will get there soon enough... All I can say is: I am grateful to the Lord. It was not me, but through using me for His work, He touches another heart.

I encourage ALL busy mothers, because frankly I don't think one exists that has nothing to do. So, I encourage ALL mother's to try and make yourselves available. But I also want you to understand the effect your testimony can have on others. With milk stain and all, post your testimony! Encourage your children to give their's as well. Don't just be a busy mother, be a Godly busy mother.
