Writing is his passion. It is his way to speak to the world.

The neighboring mountains you can see on the side of Mt. Manghilao.

Your strength sometimes depends on your will. In this another trek which I had with my friends, I have seen them sweat a lot, including me. I could feel how hard we caught our breath while under the scorching heat of the sun. I forgot the number of times we rested to reach the summit. But because we are determined, we eventually set foot at the peak of Mount Manghilao.

About Mt. Manghilao

Before, I was only a fan of the mountain ranges I saw while strolling around Danao City. I desired that one day I could be there. But at the back of my mind, it was an impossibility.

It was indeed impossible but not until today, May 12, 2019.

For a little background, Mt. Manghilao stood at Manghilao, Danao City, Cebu Philippines. It is the highest peak of the place if not in the northern Cebu. But, the climb up there from the drop-off area was perfect for first-timers. There was no available guide but, you could ask the populace you will meet there. The trail was traceable and easy to follow.

To get there, take a vehicle going to vehicle terminal behind Gaisano Mall in downtown Danao. You could see a motorcycle taxi and could negotiate with them. Only inform them that you are going to Mt. Manghilao drop-off area at Saicy store. As of the time of writing, the fare from the terminal to the drop-off area is Php 100.00 pesos per trip for 2pax. It means each person will pay Php 50.00. But if you are the only passenger, you have to pay Php 100.00.

The motorcycle ride will take you 20-30minutes while the trek up is a 1 to 2-hour walk. But it depends on your pacing. On our way down, it only took us roughly 30 minutes. There was no stopover.

The cross stands at the very peak of Mt. Manghilao.

(Mt.) Manghilao: An Acrostic

Meet me at the cross

Ascend the zenith you should focus

Never notice the emotion

Go and just be in action

Hope you could see afar

Igniting strength like a car

Lush of a scenario a soft pillow

Atop of the highest a perfect view

Oh, Mt. Manghilao an impossible come true

        Beautiful Place!

You say the highest but I cannot see the metres. How much is it? Kilimanjaro is nearly 6,000 and Anapurna, 8,000 metres. I went up about 4,500 metres on both. Incredible experience. Keep trekking, Bro

        Lovely acrostic. La paz.

Climbing and Hiking either up or down is our way to recharge. In my little place we say "had a mountaintop experience" Meaning a connection with the spirit of love.

        This is so well done.

I want you to write another one - which means you must climb a new mountain.
