I'm an animal lover and professional veterinary technician, with a passion for writing and inspiring others to chase their dreams.
I don't know about every girl out there in the world but for me....my best friend has four legs, a very short tail, and a big heart.
I know the whole quote says "A man's best friend." But It turns out they can be a girl's best friend as well.
He ended up being my best friend from the first moment I saw him in my exam room at work. He just didn't know it yet.
He had me wrapped around his paw since he crawled over to me in that room and rested his head on my lap. He gave me that puppy-eyed look and I was already won over by those short few minutes I had spent with them.
Maybe, it was a sign that we were meant to happen....but most people would say "I have to have him, just look at him, he's so adorable, how can I resist?”
He was in trouble, so I saved him and he saved me at the same time.
Yes as a best friend we don't go shopping for clothes or do each other's nails but instead, we chase each other outside, play hide and seek, go hiking, swimming and just spend time each other.
“Dogs come into our lives to teach us about love. They depart to teach us about loss. A new dog never replaces an old dog, it merely expands the heart.”
The perks of having a dog as your best friend:
- You can look ugly in front of them, they won't care
- You can just rant about your day and they have no idea what you are saying besides the words, "sit, stay, treat, food, walk, outside."
- Lets you know who they don't like right off the bat
- Never Lies
- They like to be a garbage disposal
- Wash your tears away
- Unconditional love
Dogs know when you are in trouble. They have that sixth sense that most humans don’t have. They know more than we do, they just don’t show it completely.
They may cause you trouble in life, but only small minor ones like getting into the trash, going to the bathroom in the house or even destroying your blinds on the window because they can’t stand to be alone right after you close the door behind you.
Most dogs wait for you until you get home. They wait and wait and just stare out the window hoping that they see you or hear your car pull into the driveway. It’s ridiculous how loyal they are to one certain human.
But its also amazing how they choose that one person that they know are safe. That they trust completely.
You are their person.
