God blesses everyone every single day. Some people take God's blessings for granted while others appreciate everything God does for them.

God's blessings come in two different types. Do you know what they are?

Body Blessings

When you think about it, it is easy to understand body blessings. They are those blessings from God that pertain to our physical being. They include the provisions God gives us in the form of food, drink, and shelter so we can maintain a safe and secure life.

God gives us food.

"He gives food to every creature." (Psalm 136:25)

God gives us something to drink.

"Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost." (Isaiah 55:1)

God gives us shelter.

"Those who go to God Most High for safety will be protected by the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “You are my place of safety and protection." (Psalm 91:1)

Soul Blessings

Soul blessings are very different from body blessings. While body blessings are physical things God gives us for our bodies, soul blessings are those things God gives us that pertains to our soul and our spiritual being.

God is the giver of every good and perfect gift. Therefore, anything God gives us is good. He will never give us anything that will harm us. Even though God provides physical things for our body, God gives us soul blessings which enhances our spiritual beings. Those blessings include God giving us more of Himself.

God blesses our soul.

"Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits." (Psalm 103:1)

God gives us spiritual blessings.

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ." (Ephesians 1:3)

Balance of Blessings

God doesn't require us to pick and choose whether we want body blessings or soul blessings. God wants us to have both, and both are available. However, most people tend to pray only for the body blessings to make themselves more comfortable with material things.

God wants you to have a balance of His blessings. Even if you weren't aware of the two types of blessings, God made sure you had both.

Now that you know the difference, from now on pray for both. When you thank God, make sure you thank Him for both.

Remember to balance your request for both body and soul blessings.

Remember to balance your thanks for both body and soul blessings.

No Cafeteria or Restaurant Style

God's blessings are not like the foods in a cafeteria where you go through a line and pick what you want. Then, when you reach the cashier, you pay for what you have selected. You do not have to pick and choose God's blessings. Neither do you have to pay for God's blessings.

God's blessings are not like a restaurant's menu where you can pick one from column A and two from column B.

God dispenses His blessings on those He loves, and He loves all of us. For that reason, He provides for us even when we don't ask for it. We never have to choose one blessing over another because God is in the blessing business and He has enough blessings to go around. We don't have to pick from column A or column B. We don't have to choose from a selection of foods. We can have them all when we trust God with our heart, body, mind, and soul.

Body blessings are also known as physical blessings. Soul blessings are also known as spiritual blessings.

Body blessings are those blessings God gives you for your physical well being. He is not included in those blessings. When God gives you soul blessings, He includes Himself in the blessings. He wants you to have Him in your life as well as the things He can give you.
