What are your first thoughts on waking up in the morning? Whatever you think, or however you feel, it is wise to talk first with someone who will definitely inspire a good feeling within you and empower you to maintain a good morning spirit. The best access to a good morning is a conversation with God.

The quotes, from the New Living Translation, begin with lines that are appropriate for that first morning talk with God, followed by lines you can use to talk yourself into continuing the good mood. Then there are quotes which are appropriate for encouraging others, quotes which feed the mind with positive morning imageries and finally, reasons to thank God for the morning.

What a blessing it is to begin each day with a focus on what God has to say to His people! The world says we should follow our hearts but God warns against that, calling us to follow His Word. Thank you for sharing these verses. Jeremiah 17:7-9 is my addition to your excellent selections:

Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,

whose trust is the Lord.

He is like a tree planted by water,

that sends out its roots by the stream,

and does not fear when heat comes,

for its leaves remain green,

and is not anxious in the year of drought,

for it does not cease to bear fruit.

The heart is deceitful above all things,

and desperately sick;

who can understand it?

Tamarajo, thanks for mentioning the imageries. I love figurative language and the sun makes such a perfect picture as in "Christ the Morning Star shines in your hearts ." Enjoy your morning prayers and be blessed.

Tamarajo on October 19, 2016:

Very nice collection of morning reflections, prayers, and truths to ponder, pray, and practice. I especially liked the imagery section. I do have a set of Bible based prayers I like to pray in the morning some of which are included in your quotes. This is a good article to print and keep on hand for daily reference in those quiet morning moments with the Lord.

God bless!
