What Is to Become?

Updated on September 13, 2017

I build the walls around me,

Nothing is to enter where I dwell,

Nothing escaping this cold place,

Compassion fades away into nothing,

Sincerity vanishes into thin air,

Emotions stand silently and idle,

I protect myself from the storm,

Shielding myself from the chaos,

Preserving what makes me who I am,

I feel nothing of anything,

The suns joyful rays retract and disappear,

The hostile clouds take over the sky,

I build these walls around me,

Shielding myself from the chaos,

I feel nothing of anything,

I brace myself of what is to become...

Nicely penned. I believe people are always building invisible walls around themselves to keep the world away.

That's a very well written poem. Yes, I think that many people build walls around themselves to shelter them from all the chaos.
