My day begins pretty much the same as a living being, with the sunrise. The only difference is, my sunrise occurs when the school pouch zips open and light floods the insides.

I yawn and stretch my cap and wake up my lazy colleague, pen-pencil, who was an experiment to combine the two most popular stationery items. I also have a sister, pencil, who is an utter disappointment to the stationery family. Her marks can be erased with a single swish of the eraser!

I have an owner, Aniruddh, who is usually pretty responsible. But hey, he's a human! They have unpredictable behaviour! My owner grabs me and immediately sets me on the paper. After an hour, his essay is finally done and I am exhausted, proud of the work I have done.

I prepare myself to rejoin my friends, compass and eraser. Realizing that my owner forgot to place me back in my pouch, I try to hop into the pouch, much to the horror of my owner’s little sister, who was passing by. She screams and runs away to her mother. I might be going to stationery jail for that.

I ignore the thought and successfully hop into the pouch, to join compass and eraser. I played football with the whole stationery gang with a tiny piece of paper our owner had scrunched up into a ball. So, the day goes by, until he zips the pouch close and the sunsets to another day.

P.S. This was written by my younger brother for a school assignment, but it was so funny I wanted to share it with you all. Hope it brought a smile to your face!
