The Problem with Pain

Updated on May 2, 2017

The problem with pain,
Is that you think you're alone,
That no one around you has ever quite known
What it's like
To be terrified to be on your own
When did hiding emotion
become the meaning of "grown"?
The problem with pain,
is that you think it's too late
Once you've slipped and fallen in the sea of self hate
I'm telling you, friend, I'm no stranger to hurting
I'm right here beside you still growing and learning
But I look around and see a problem with pain
Its not meant to be bottled up tight and detained
It's supposed to alert you that help is required
But it seems that our brains have been amply re-wired
I don't want you to worry, everyone makes mistakes
Its okay to backtrack a little bit when you ache,
Just listen close when I say, every problem has a fix,
And that when you carve those lines on your wrist,
Think of my voice reminding you this:
There's no need to break yourself just to feel bliss

Because pain,

Is never,

May we change this world only for better.

Extraordinary indeed and very powerful. You give a sound perspective in a poignant way and the last line was so full of truth. You offer hope and acceptance here. Rather than condemning you encourage and inspire. I've had a lot of hard times and I appreciate this so much.

      One must remain sane,

      let pass, this temperory hurricane.

This is extraordinary writing! A message sent in rhyming fashion. ( My favorite kind. ) Inward pain is so much worse than physical pain, no amount of pain medicine will help.
