The Metal Sphere
I've awoken from a sleep that has felt like an eternity. It's cold, dark, and weary. Where am I? I now know I'm not in the comfort of my own home. I realize my cell phone is still in my back pocket. I pull it out for some light. I have no service! Where am I? I use the light source to track where I am. I realize I had been kidnapped! I am confined in a tight metal sphere and my worst fears had just come to a reality!
I'm dizzy. I'm scared. I'm panicked. Thoughts rush through my mind like a heatwave in the Saharan Desert. "I... I'm... I'm going to die!"
Suddenly I hear loud beeps and my thoughts become blank. At first, I thought the deafening sounds were just in my head. The metal sphere I'm being held captive in opens. A light, bright enough to blind one, comes into the sphere. I see a faint, grey glow in the center of the light. The object becomes more clear. It's some sort of being. I recognize what I am seeing, and soon realize that I've seen characters that look similar to these on the television. When I watch U.F.O. Mysteries, the foreigner looks just as the one who stands before me. I'm gazing at an alien. The alien grabbed me by the hand but I didn't feel a touch. Why couldn't I feel its hand against my arm? It pulled me out of the sphere and took me to a glass table. The alien strapped my torso, forearms, and calves to the table and left. I didn't hesitate to stop the alien. It's as if its touch made me numb. Though, now that I am restricted onto the table, I realize that I have to escape.
Hoping to get these straps loose before my jailer comes back, I try to wiggle myself free. I take a long, deep breath before using all my strength to break the locks. As soon as a delicate amount of pressure is detected from the straps, a red light flickers. A loud buzz floods the room and once again, I panic. Vastly, more aliens rush into the room where I am holding. They all circle me. Then, a massive alien glides in slowly. Its steps sound like thumps hitting the metal floor. I soon realize this alien is like no other. It's the Queen Bee of all aliens. My teeth chattering, my eyes wide, I stare at her as she walks toward me. Her hands placed behind her back makes me wonder if she is carrying a weapon. Again... Again, I feel as if I am taking my last breath. She holds my head in her cold, grey hands. My eyes closed shut, my body tingles, and my voice will not allow me to say a word. Soon I see myself outside of my body. It was as if my soul had just broken out of its shell. Did I just die? This thought is unnerving, though I feel a sense of peace. I've never felt anything like this before. The feeling is overwhelming. Still watching my physical life going on like a movie, I see the Queen let go of my head. I am sucked back into my body like a vacuum. I am shocked at what I just witnessed. Now I need to once again face reality.
The aliens take me out of the metal room, onto a red, dusty planet. It's excessively hot. Right away, they assign me to act as a slave. I have to spend two weeks digging in the rough, red dirt. As time passes, I become sick. Realizing that I can no longer work, the aliens throw me back into that enclosed metal sphere. My mind tampers and I feel as if I'm going insane. I become angry and try to fight my way out of this miserable, confined space. I see a small crack in the side of the sphere. I only have three tools to survive. My cell phone, my bare hands, and my mind. I use all three to conjure up a way to flee. Pounding slowly, using all my might, I notice that the crack is getting wider and wider. It's not easy though. Every time I am closer to getting out, I realize that I still have over half of the circumference to go. After a feeling of a lifetime, I finally break open the sphere. I know that now I have to find a way out of the metal room. I know that there is a passageway where the Queen came through. It won't be safe going through there. I see a second door and decide to exit through there. This led to another room where I see others of my kind. I am appalled at what I see. The others have been here longer. They appear skeletal and deathly. I know I need to help them get home too.
After time spent, we all try to escape. We make our way to the red land. In the distance, a young child spotted a U.F.O... We got into it hoping it was empty. Walking down a hallway big enough for one at a time, we walked to the pilot area. I was the last to walk. As everyone got into an area of safety, I fell into a secret trap which landed me back onto the red surface. The others left for home without me. I could tell these aliens were furious. They grabbed me. I blacked out and suddenly saw the light. I knew what had just happened and could no longer save myself. I was already gone.

Thank you very much. I enjoyed writing it. The painting is done in oil, and the alien is in clay. The Alien sculpt is over 4ft tall.

I enjoyed this story Jason which was suspenseful and dramatic. Will this be the first chapter? Your artwork is also very impressive.
