I'm a writer, a poet, a dreamer. Born and raised in New York City. I now live in Daytona Beach, Florida with my wonderful cat Sid.
The heavens were crying,
the day he left,
as quietly the magic,
went out of her life.
Nothing was again the same,
no one to call her name.
It was so gray and cold,
her heart felt so heavy,
she wondered if just for a moment,
her nightmare could end.
Raindrops like tears,
splashed down from above,
as she watched from the window above.
No more loving smile,
no wave of the hand.
It was no longer see you,
it was good-bye forever more.
Feeling caged inside,
she walked out into the rain,
no umbrella was needed,
the rain mingled with the tears.
She was numb nothing to feel,
the beach was empty,
in this misty morning rain.
kept her company,
the waves crashed to the shore,
the wind blew their spray all about.
Her cheeks were wet,
she no longer was sure,
if it was the rain, the mist
or the tears that came streaming down.
mingled with the pain in her heart.
She wondered how she would go on,
returning to deathly silence -
no one to say I love you.
Perhaps when the sun,
brought a rainbow,
sparkling across the sky,
she might feel in her heart,
the way to a new love –
that would always be true.

Rasma, as much as I love Bob Seeger, I've never heard this song before. How appropriate to hear it for the first time after reading your touching original poem!

You wrote about one episode in my life that still lingers. You wonder if the sun will ever shine again, then one day you meet someone who takes the pain away. Your poetry always touches me. Thank you
