A creative writer at heart, Janis was first published at age 11. Most of her poems express core issues of love, loss, trauma, and healing.

Rain Through the Eyes of Children

To embrace the rain of spring time through a child's eye is delightful. It reminds us of the forgotten freedom of play and wonderment experienced in our childhoods. The freshness of that first rain of the spring season is an invitation to recall and witness the purity of children at play.

Let us remember the blessings that come with a nice heavy rain and how it often leaves behind one of nature's favorite playgrounds.

Four haiku are offered celebrating children's appreciation of rain.

Thank you much, I love that one, too. After writing the first three, I looked for pictures to go with them. When I came across that last pic, I wrote a fourth haiku just to add that amazing pic. It says so my much.

Thank you much, Cyndi. Finding the right pics took longer than writing the each haiku. I was lucky to find them. I added the fourth haiku after coming across the picture of the toddler. The other three were written before I found the pics. I made some edits after finding pics of pink coat and pink boots.

I like the playfulness of your haiku. Very much like the raindrops and the children. You chose great pictures. Have a great day.

Still today I like stepping into a puddle watching the ripples. It is kinda' magical in its own way. Wonderful haiku sharing the magic of puddles.
