Sentinel Moon Tune

Silver orb, in the night time's sky, many times I've seen you, how time does fly,

A sentinel to the evening, as night comes on, by and by, it comes on by and by.

Prompting my lyrical presentation, as in your beauty lies, each rarest observation,

Every poem, sonnet and song, of your wonders all belong, as a fine reincarnation.

Refrain:

Silver moon up in the sky, where all our dreams do seem to fly,

Take a lucky penny from the dish, Magic genie, grant us a wish,

We know you'll answer us, by and by, you'll answer us by and by.

Perpetually you are there in that sky, endlessly to project a beaming nightly light,

Romantic reminder, subject of music designer, dependable companion, a delight.

Your duty to perform until the end of all time, night time vigil, our watcher, sublime,

You chase away shadows, as higher you climb, giving a reason, with all to rhyme.

Refrain:

Silver moon up in the sky, where all our dreams, do seem to fly,

Take a lucky penny from the dish, magic genie, grant us a wish,

We know you'll answer us by and by, you'll answer us by and by.

As your orb does wax and to wane, we know you'll soon be full once again,

Watching over us, as your nightly chore, your beaming essence we all adore.

Your Grand reflections on river and lake, over glen, the dale, always to make,

Revered brother to Mother Earth, valued friend, of greatest worth, for all's sake.

Refrain:

Silver moon up in the sky, where all our dreams do seem to fly,

Take a lucky penny from the dish, magic genie, grant us a wish.

We know you'll answer us by and by, you'll answer us by and by.

Silver moon, you're such a good friend, we all do hate to see the night time end,

As every day you slowly disappear, we know in our hearts, you'll always be near.

Like a soldier you guard us, closely by you'll stand, watching over all, your band,

We can rest reassured, with you old man, as your silver hair, does shine so grand.

Refrain:

Silver moon up in the sky, where all our dreams do seem to fly,

Take a lucky penny from the dish, magic genie, grant us a wish,

We know you'll answer us by and by, you'll answer us by and by.

Whonu, I love the metaphors in this. And your photos are breathtaking!

You and Rasma must be on the same plane right about now. I just read her most recent poem about the moon.

A lovely, gentle poem. It really does need a tune, it just needs to be sung as well.

I can hear soft music play in my mind as I read this. A sweet, tender melody.
