Second to None

You Were There

There were no small parts on this tragic day no matter what the papers say, or didn’t say…

These words are For You because You Were There…

You were in the mix, in the thick, of all that screaming, all that pain that seemed to be everywhere…

You Were There with tears in your eyes and determination guiding you and inner strength providing you, with the mindset and courage to rise above the madness…

Rise above the sadness and anger that was gripping the nation…

The fear that was unleashed on this nation by hands that didn’t give a damn about loss of life…

You Were There, during the Recovery efforts, in the field, side by side, ready to do your part and any part necessary to help out…

These words are For You who the newspapers forgot to mention, or mentioned in whispers or passing thoughts…

For you who also stood tall like the Police department, Fire department, and all those other departments, who heard the cries of the fallen, heard the cries of a nation…

You Were There in Uniform, out of uniform , among all the chaos and confusion…

Your sacrifice on that day and the days that followed should never be treated with hollow applause…

When the World Celebrates the Heroes and Sheroes of the 911 tragedy, please take your Bow just like the rest…

Your family, friends, Witnesses, know your story, are proud of your story…

The world may never know what you did, when you did and how you did…

Still, the Eyes of Heaven Never Sleep and your contributions on that fatal day, did get recorded, in the mind of some and in their hearts too...

Unsung, Unnoticed, but Second to None in getting the job done…

I hope these words find you and remind you, that every part was an important part on that deadly day…

Thank You for Your Service...
