Resonance of the Earth
Reverberating, its synchronicity, obvious by the listening of our heart,
"What have you done?"...a question asked by the guardians, all a part.
Almost destroyed, the fair oceans, beneath, its depths, feel the pain,
As if a kindred spirit, so harmed beyond any help, and is all too lamed.
My resources all have been so exploited, no renewal now will never satisfy,
My seas are poisoned, rivers run in filth, the waste of the people all spilled.
Beautiful trees, benefactor of the air all to breathe, removed from the land,
The final days of this earthen world, to be hastened, soon will be revealed.
My air that provides the gift of life, permeated by dark coal's smut, and devastated,
The very soil, used to grow crops, feeding the world, to the gates of Hell, is hurled!
Grievous control of plants and fowl to eat, by a few, to misuse and then destroyed,
Photosynthesis impaired, harmful gases are flared, no resolution to be employed.
The earth, its resonance, sends a most dire message to all who listen, will hear,
The survival of all, is now at stake, spoiled by the greedy few, and now so severe.
It's time to stand and be counted, the answer is never be afraid, or give in to fear.
Our creator, in his great benevolence, wants us all to keep this world, so dear.
Our earth firm, beneath us, is speaking to us, we must now listen in all respect,
The sun, the moon, and other planets, in our solar system, of us, circumspect.
At the reverberating, concentric rings all travel outward, our attention sought,
Sounds from inside our planet, cry, pleading, to head what we have wrought!
Earth to earth, ashes to ashes, and dust to dust, is our fate, to be, as it must,
Should our world all fall beneath our feet, our society incomplete, as to rust?
What answer will we return at our call, that of all life, large or small...enough,
No, no more, we've done enough, the creatures of this world, of sterner stuff!
