I'm a writer, a poet, a dreamer. Born and raised in New York City. I now live in Daytona Beach, Florida. .
emerged from the clouds.
A sprinkling of stars,
The soft, gentle spring wind,
blew sweet perfume through the air,
for I moment I thought,
I heard you call my name.
Then I looked up and it seemed,
I saw your image reflected ,
on the face of the moon.
My friend it’s been so long,
since I saw your smiling face.
There you were looking down at me
and it could have been yesterday -
when we last said good-bye.
Now another summer,
has come and gone,
leaving behind –
poignant thoughts and memories.
In the dark of the night,
what a lovely sight -
I wonder if you’re really there.
Comforting it seems
and the years slip away.
Now the harvest moon,
has come to say –
autumn is on the way.
The moon radiates its light
and the night,
becomes like a fantasy.
Sure wish I could give you my hand,
just for a moment to feel you near,
like in times past so very dear.
Reflecting on the moon,
brings back the good times,
when you were mine.
Close friends never forget,
they stay in the heart,
though time moves on
and I’ll always remember you -
as I reflect upon the moon.

And the memories always sparkle Shauna.
I am so inspired by every full moon I see Dianna.

I've had so many wonderful memories from being in the moonlight. Your words bring back lovely evenings under the full harvest moon. It is the ruler of the night and sheds light on the beauty of life.

This is so pretty, Rasma. I thought of old friends I haven't seen in years as I read this. It's so true that people keep a special place in our hearts even when time or distance separates us.

Your beautiful poem captures the dreamy and magical qualities of the moon and its effects on our emotions. " The moon radiates its light and the night,
becomes like a fantasy." What a perfect expression of the way the full moon illuminates the garden and elsewhere! I love this one- my favorite so far.
Enjoy a lovely autumn:)

Amazing ! Rasma . I love to just watch the sky at night , I often try to find the constellations that I know , but it is the silence of the slow moving sky , Even without the dreams or romance , its just amazingly calming ! Nice write !............Hope you're well !

This is simple but beautiful. The imagery is wonderful. It evokes many different emotions in me, mostly nostalgia.

My comment has disappeared. I was saying that this is a great and soothing poem. That Bill is right except that it's mid-afternoon for me and it's still excellent! I like the music too.
I was saying that as a child I loved the moon and that many of my old poems include the healing qualities of the moon, Even some recent ones. A very beautiful poem, Gypsy.
P.S. Check out the autumnal one I wrote for you. It's a Sonnet, I believe:https://hubpages.com/literature/Autumnal-Leaves-A-...

I think of the moon a lot, Gypsy. It's so meaningful to me, and again as a child I looked at it so much! Many of my old poems are coloured with it and again, some of my recent ones.
Bill is right, these kinds of poetry gives us a great start to the day. Now it's mid-afternoon and it's still beautiful. I enjoy the music too. Much Love.
