Poetry on South Africa 1985
RSA 1985
Across the land complacency lay,
nurtured by the false leaders of the day.
The complacency became cracked by the movement of the Black
as the massive muscled slave demanded recognition from the rack.
Panic and righteousness brought the bark of the gun
as the blind White cried “fight – there’s nowhere left to run”.
