Out of the Darkness, Into the Light

Israel is a fan of many types of music and loves to write, not in any particular order and does them usually at the same time.

I was once so lost,

So high was the cost,

Gone for way too long,

Things were very wrong,

Blinded by my own pity,

Feeling trapped in this city,

Really in my own mind,

Solace I could never find,

The times have changed,

I am no longer deranged,

Many changes have come about,

No longer do I have to force it out,

Many new roads paved,

I have not caved,

Following new unknown routes,

What is to come about,

Happy memories are created,

Myself and everyone else are elated,

Sharing together our precious time,

Listening as the bell goes chime,

Out of the darkness,

Far away from the harshness,

Stepping into the light,

Fighting that good fight...

Your poem is encouraging. We must hang on and keep walking in the light.
