Our Time on Earth Is Short and Sweet

Updated on September 7, 2017

Lonely hearts reflect a busy life,

With a fast pace world not so nice,

No time for extra relaxation,

No time for silly celebrations.

Stop now and see with open eyes,

A journey long to recognize.

Without a breather now and then,

No cause to ever stop again.

Just move the business as it goes,

Don’t worry if you step on toes.

Sadly, we are only here awhile.

Greet each day with a little smile.

With each acquaintance new and old,

The reason we meet is seldom told,

But there truly is a special reason,

If only greeted for a season.

Our time on earth is short and sweet,

Show respect for all you meet.

Lonely hearts sometimes are weak,

Place a smile upon their cheek.

Simple gestures seem lame you say?

But for others it’s what made their day.

Never a wasted minute goes by,

If the time worth living doesn’t fly.

Thank you, Coffeequeen. I hope the memories we leave behind for our grandchildren are happy ones.

That's a lovely poem. Yes, our time on Earth is very short. We must make the most of our time here.
