My nightstand is the proud and sole owner of my secrets. I stuff the pages of my written confessionals and sentiments into the top drawer, knowing that no set of eyes will see them again without my say-so.
When my day turns into night, I turn out my pockets and I put the miscellaneous items that I have acquired throughout the day into the bottom drawer. Loose receipts, spare change, and trinkets of the day tell the wooden box where I have been and what I have done.
I drop the pieces of my affairs into my chamber of secrets, and I shut the drawer slowly, making sure that each item and each paper is where it ought to be. I then lock both drawers with a key who's whereabouts are known only by me, and I sleep quite peacefully with all of my secrets by my side.

I like the way that you have adapted a daily routine into an interesting piece of writing. I have drawers where I put these kind of items, but they are unlocked and can soon become untidy.
