You are missed.

My heart did travel beyond the infinite boundaries of time.
Searching, perusing for a love, defying reason for the ages to define.

I found that in you. You are truly missed.

May your soul rest in peace.

Love, oh my Love!

Your voice whispers like a sparrow in the bidding of farewell to the night

A melodic tune that vibrates and lingers, oh, to my ears, pure delight.

Softly your words caress, arousing dormant senses to joyous remember.

One more word, just a sound from your lips and my heart will to you, surrender.

Love, oh my love, time in her kindness has laid gentle spices to your heart

Did she feather you also with the words to pierce my shield like cupid’s dart?

Love, oh my love, did you dance a samba through my mind as I laid last to sleep

Or was it just the sporadic dreams from infatuation going, gone too deep?

My heart did travel beyond the infinite boundaries of time.

Searching, perusing for a love, defying reason for the ages to define.

Now like a pirate with stolen bounties heading out from shore

The tides of loneliness, gales of solitude stemmed and dispersed to no more.

To taste loves lips as sweet as brandy wine at dawn in June.

To embrace the aroma of love, piercing silently, a ballad, a violin, scaled to tune.

Love, oh my love, did my eyes beckon you like the dance of a moth to a summers flame?

Was that the rhythm to my heart deliberately echoing your precious name?

Love, oh my love, might you be my bid adieu to the tempestuous night?

Dispersing shadows, a smile, your smile like gleaming rays, the sun’s morning light

In a plethora of thorns there is you, hidden a perfect daffodil

Lay me, now vanquished by thy nature, bested, now servant to thy love will.

My Love

Oh this is absolutely beautiful. There is a poet I think you would enjoy. His name is Manatita, he's from London. You can find him on my hubs. Cheers!!!!

Totally exquisite poem! You have talent. I like Lionel, too, and yes, I have used him in my poetry. My favourite is probably John Legend. It's a close thing.

Thanks, Manatita! I appreciate that. I guess I gravitate towards the "oldies," especially when I grew up playing their music on the piano. Lionel's music was always a challenge for me.

John Legend's "All of me" strikes at my core.
